Q:I'm currently an F1 student at the University of San Francisco and my health insurance is cover by the Aetna network. I'm looking for a cost-effective alternative from Insubuy and would like to opt into the Exchange Guard offering.

A:
Your school wants you to purchase unlimited coverage PPACA compliant plan. ExchangeGuardis not PPACA compliant plan. So you need to purchase insurance through your school

Q:Hi, I am looking at the visitor medical insurance, and I have a question. For "VisitorSecure" plan, I saw I can choose Deductible as $0, $50 or $100 (assume I choose $50). However, when I see the details of this plan, for example, I saw Physician visit is - up to $70, max 10 visits. So my question is - let's assume I go to a Physician visit - Should I just pay the $50 deductible amount and the insurance will cover the remaining, or the insurance will pay the first $75 and I need to pay the remaining? Thank you!

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The VisitorSecurefixed coverage plan will only cover fixed dollar amounts according to a schedule of benefits. So after you have met your deductible the plan will pay only the fixed dollar amount listed in the schedule of benefits. You would be responsible for any amount above and beyond the fixed amount listed. For a more detailed description of how fixed coverage plans work please see the below FAQ. Fixed Coverage If you have any additional questions please contact our office.

Q:Does Atlas Essential America cover psychiatric medications?

A:
We would be glad to advise. Short term plans do not cover pre-existing conditions and therefore would not cover prescriptions related to a pre-existing condition, including the one below. Also, the Atlas Essential plan specifically, does not include any prescription coverage, even for new illnesses or injuries. The Atlas Essential plan does come with a prescription discount card, that you can use towards any prescription including the ones below to receive a discount on the total cost of the prescriptions at the pharmacy. This card would be included in your confirmation email after purchase. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:We are interested to purchase a health insurance policy for 84 year old male (DOB 07/01/1934, Indian citizen) from 12/10/18 to 05/30/2019 for visiting USA. We are interested in Safe travels USA comprehensive or Safe travels USA cost saver. If possible, Please provide me both quotes for Max limit of $50,000 and deductible $1,000. Also let us know, any restrictions are there for these policies if we need to cancel after few months.

A:
We would be glad to assist. We are forwarding a quote based on the information provided below, however, the quote will automatically default to a $250.00 deductible. Once you receive the quote, you can use the drop down box to change the deductible to the $1,000 option, and it will update the price accordingly. This plan is for someone traveling to the U.S. on a B1/B2 Visitor visa. If your visitor is not traveling on this visa, please advise as this plan would not provide coverage, and we would need to look at appropriate options. Under the plan information in the quote, you can select the View More button, and access all of the plan information. This will include the Refundable link, which explains the cancellation guidelines and procedures. I have attached it below for you to reference. /cancellation/safe-travels-usa-comprehensive-insurance/ Just to advise, if any claims are filed on the policy, there would not be a refund available. The Wellness visit benefit on this plan if used, would count as a claim. If you have any additional questions, or need any further assistance, please let us know.

Q:My family and I are traveling back to the US for the holidays. My family and I live in China and we have worldwide insurance, but it excludes the USA. My wife is currently 5 months pregnant. She is a Romanian citizen and I am a US citizen as well as my son. Do you offer any insurances that cover complications during pregnancy? If yes, which ones? If no, can you please recommend what we can do?

A:
We would be glad to advise. We do have plans for visitors to the U.S. There are plans that can cover your spouse as a Romanian citizen, and you and your child as U.S. citizens. Because of this, you would be eligible for different plans and your spouse would have to be on her own plan, and you and your son on another. The plan we would recommend for your spouse who is pregnant, would be the Atlas America Plan. This plan includes complications of pregnancy benefits up to 26 weeks. The plan we would recommend for you and your son, would be the Patriot America Plus plan. If you have any additional questions, or need any additional assistance, please let us know.
