Q:Short term health insurance Hi Jagruti- I am trying to buy an individual health insurance plan that I only need for a couple months. I am looking for one that is only for hospital emergenies. Can you please provide me with what my options are and where is the most affordable route to go? I am 29 years old and live in the 10065 Zip of Manhattan, NY. Thanks and regards,

A:
Please let me know your legal status in the US. Are you US citizen, greencard holder, work visa, tourist visa or something else? Hi- I am a US Citizen. Thanks! State of NY does not allow short term insurance plans. Therefore, no company sells it. Are they any options for Emergency or Hospital only Insurances? No. State of NY does not allow it. Please look at the plans available at https://www.insubuy.com

Q:Temporary Health Care Coverage Hello, My husband and I currently have health insurance through his job (the military). He will be getting out of the military and getting a new job in June. Our last day of health care coverage through the military is June 28, 2008. I am pregnant, and my due date is July 6, 2008, which is a week after our coverage ends. We don't want to have to worry about when his new job's coverage will kick in, etc., since we want to make sure we are covered for my birth. We are looking into temporary health care coverage for me and for our baby after he is born - my husband won't need any. I am looking for about 30 to 60 days worth of coverage. We will be living in Virginia. I do not want to have to pay a lot out of pocket for the birth, so what is the best plan you have to offer for us? We are used to having completely free medical care, so this will be a big change for us. I am on one prescription medication, acyclovir. I do not smoke or drink and am healthy. My pregnancy is currently normal and not a high-risk one. Thanks for your time. Sincerely,

A:
If you are already pregnant, there is no private insurance from any company that will cover you. So, even if I have had no break in my health coverage and have had my current health care for over 7 years, I cannot get new health insurance that will cover the birth of my baby? I appreciate your response. Thanks for your time. That's right. No insurance company will take you (or your husband) currently.

Q:Visa letter for Schengen travel insurance Hello, I am a college student in Arkansas from Lima,Peru. I'm looking an insurance for my trip to France (June-August), I need a letter from the insurance company for my schengen Visa. Do you provide that? I was looking for a price quote and there is an option about the home country departure, I don't know what to put there, because I've a I20 Visa, but I am resident from Peru. What about the deductible? what is that? Let me know as soon as possible, Thank you

A:
1. Visa letter Yes, we provide the Schengen visa insurance for trip to France. 15 minutes after your purchase the insurance (such as Atlas International), you can download it online from /myaccount/ 2. Home country departure date. Just write the date you would like to start the insurance. That means, the day in June when you depart for France. 3. Deductible Deductible is the amount you have to pay first before insurance company pays anything, in case you get sick or injured. You can make an instant purchase online of Schengen visa insurance at /schengen-visa-insurance/ Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hello, About the "home country departure" , there are options like "yet to depart" ,"departed within last 1 month", what should I put, if I am currently in USA and I am resident of Peru. And about the method of payment, can I pay with a VISA credit card from Peru? Thank you, 1. It does not matter if you are below 65 years of age. 2. Yes. By the way the requirement of the insurance for my visa, its that I should have at least $37 000 during my stay in europe for any medical and rapartriation expenses. I am looking for the policy maximum $50 000 , is that right? Thanks That's right. The actual requirement is 30,000 Euro. At one point that used to be equal to 37,000 USD. But now 30,000 Euro is around 48,500 USD. Therefore, 50,000 USD is correct.

Q:Schengen Visa Insurance for Italy Dear Sir/Madam, I have a few questions about securing medical insurance to satisfy the Schengen visa requirements. My wife and I (both aged 56) will be in Italy from 8/29/08 to 5/13/09, where I will be on a study sabbatical. We will continue our US insurance through BC/BS of New Mexico during our time abroad. * What would be the best option for us in terms of supplemental insurance while we are in Italy? * Can we be assured that occasional visits back to the USA during this period, perhaps longer than 15 days, would not terminate your insurance coverage (we would be covered under our existing policy during the time on American soil)? Thanks!

A:
You can find Schengen visa insurance at /schengen-travel-insurance/ All of the plans listed above meet schengen visa requirements. Atlas International is the best from all of them. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you for your reply. I agree that Atlas International seems the best of the lot. I understand that the Atlas policy will remain in force through the specified period if, for instance, my wife were to come back to the USA for a month at Christmas during which she would be covered by our existing U.S. policy which we intend to keep active. As long as you had paid the premiums for the entire duration, your policy would remain active.
