Q:I do have one question for you, which is a general question. What constitutes a pre-existing medical condition for the purposes of insurance coverage? I ask because I have historically been treated for a very minor issue but have now been given the all clear and am no longer diagnosed with it - I would assume that is not pre-existing any longer but wanted to check.

A:
A pre-existing condition would be anything that with reasonable medical certainty manifested or existed prior to the effective date of the policy.

Q:I am planning to obtain the below insurance for my parents travelling to Schengen countries for 25 days. They live in India and will be traveling from and back to India. Is the below insurance valid for Indian citizens living in India to travel to Schengen countries? Atlas International Lloyd underwriter How do we locate a provider in the schengen countries for this insurance?

A:
It would be up to the providers to direct bill. The insurance company will always allow for direct billing. If a provider does not want to direct bill they will have you pay them up front in full and then you would file a claims for reimbursement. All plans would work that way. If you are asking this question in regards to Schengen requirements be advised that all plans in our Schengen section meet all Schengen requirements.
