Q:I am 78 can I get Medical Insurance to visit USA ? Also if I married ba US Citizen Can I still get Medical Insurance up to the 3 years necessary to be a US Citizen

A:
We have plans for visitors to the U.S. and those plans can be found through this quoting link: /visitors-insurance/ However, if you enter as a visitor and then for example get married while in the U.S. and file for adjustment of status, most visitor plans would no longer cover you as soon as you file paperwork. We would have to look at what plans would be available that time in the state in which you are residing. Be advised that the plans that we offer are for people who are not eligible for domestic insurance. Once you receive a green card for example, if there is a plan through that state Health Care Exchange for someone who is 78, you would have to enroll into that domestic plan. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I'm looking for insurance for my parents who are visiting the United States from India. They are 72 years old. I need insurance that will allow us to take them to a PCP doctor and some specialists.

A:
Visitors Insurance plans are primarily designed to provide coverage for new illnesses, injuries or accidents that either exist in the body or occur after the effective date of the policy. They are not designed to cover pre-existing conditions, routine doctors visits or preventative treatments. For someone age 72, a few popular options are the Atlas America and Safe Travels USA Comprehensive. These plans will include coverage for the acute onset of pre-existing conditions. You may purchase these plans online or over the phone by contacting our office at +1 (866) INSUBUY 467-8289.

Q:I have 40 H2B workers that come every year to work in the US from Jamaica for the season . Also 6 J1 students as well.

A:
We can offer coverage in both scenarios, for the J visa holders depending on the requirements we can match coverage based on their individual needs for coverage from their sponsoring organization. If the only requirements are those set by the U.S. department of state any of the plans in the Exchange Visitor Insurance section. For H2B workers needing temporary insurance you can take a look at the Atlas America plan for coverage. The plan will provide coverage for any new accident or illnesses that did not exist prior to the effective date of coverage and it will not provide coverage while working.
