Q:Need insurance for my parents. My father has diabetes.Need a plan which can cover the medical expenses if any.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. We have many plans for visitors to the US. The plans will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date of the policy. There are no plans on the market that will cover pre-existing condition, preventative care or routine maintenance. Several plans do include a benefit for the acute onset of a pre-existing condition for people under 70. Acute Onset information Patriot America Plus brochure and instant purchase link Atlas America brochure and instant purchase link You can review all of the plans on our website If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am in US with a J1 VISA for Research at University of California Irvine (UCI). My husband is here with J2 VISA for spouse. We are interested in the Patriot Exchange program, that seems to fit with UCI's requirements for minimum levels of health insurance, listed below: - $100,000 USD per accident & illness in medical coverage - Deductible cannot exceed $500 per accident or illness - Coinsurance cannot exceed 25% - Medical evacuation coverage must be at least $50,000 USD - Repatriation coverage must be at least $25,000 USD - Pre-existing conditions must be a covered benefit. The waiting period for benefit coverage cannot exceed 12 months. Pre-existing conditions must also have a $100,000 per illness medical coverage. Please note: Policy's with coverage for only "Acute onset of pre-existing conditions" do not meet this requirement. - Carrier must be at least A- rated or backed by the full faith and credit of the Exchange Visitor's government I just have some doubts about pre-existing conditions, because I found on your website that "For conditions existing within 36 months before effective date, charges excluded until after 12 months of coverage and then $500 maximum per period of coverage and $50,000 lifetime maximum". It seems that this do not satisfy the requirements of University. Would it be possible to modify this condition, and obtain a plan covering all the conditions we need? Would Atlas Exchange program work?

A:
It is not possible to alter a plan to meet the Univiersities requirements. The Atlas Exchange program will not meet the requirements listed in the aforementioned email. Please review the Student Secure Select plan to fulfill your Universities requirements for coverage. If you have any questions about the plan or its coverage please feel free to contact our office for assistance.

Q:My mother is visiting me in the US. She is traveling from India on 20th December and will be staying here at Sunnyvale, California till 17th June. In between, she will visit my sister in Chicago, IL in April/May. She is 61 years old and has no pre-existing conditions. Could you please suggest a good insurance plan for her? Would a coverage of 100,000 USD be sufficient to cover any unforseen medical expenses, due to accidents or sudden illness ?

A:
As a broker, We provide insurance from many companies. Essentially all the plan fall into two categories. Fixed coverage and comprehensive coverage. Insurance will pay for any new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy as long as it's not pre-existing or preventive care. However, Some plan provides coverage for acute onset of pre-ex. Please find more information here. We have sent you quote in a separate e-mail for couple of good plans under each category. Please check your e-mail. You can also get quote online on our website. Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:Hello, I am an F1 visa student here at United States. I want to confirm if my College criteria matched with your insurance policy or not. Acceptable Alternate Health Insurance Plans: 1. A government or scholarship sponsored plan that meets Houston Community College's waiver criteria; or 2. A job-based employer health insurance plan (or covered as a dependent under a job-based employer health insurance plan). Note: individual policies (example: Plans offered online to individuals) are not considered acceptable alternate insurance and will not be accepted. II. Waiver Criteria: Alternate health insurance plans must offer coverage that is comparable to or greater than the following criteria: 1. Coverage dates must include the entire coverage period you are waiving; 2. Medical benefits of at least $50,000 in US dollars for each accident or sickness; 3. Policy must have an annual deductible of no more than U.S. $500 (A Health Care Spending account is not acceptable as an alternative); 4. Covered benefits paid at a minimum of 75%; 5. Q:I'm a PT student in Switzerland at the last year out of 4 of a BSc in Physiotherapy. I'm contacting you because I'll spend my last hands-on internship in Houston, TX and I need a general liability insurance + professional liability insurance as detailed below (directly from the internship contract between my University and the healthcare network): Insurance. A student spending an internship in one or more combined facilities/locations of our healthcare network will procure and maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum limits of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) combined single limit. The student will also procure and maintain throughout the entire internship period at our hospitals, professional liability insurance in minimum amounts of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) per occurrence or per claim and Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) in the aggregate as a student assigned to HOSPITAL which shall cover all his activities at the HOSPITAL. I'm Italian but both Italian and Swiss insurance companies don't insure PT students outside EU, so they told me to get my insurance directy from a US insurance company, considering I'll spend this internship there. I'm already insured here in Switzerland and in EU in general, but it doesn't cover me in the US. I contacted the HPSO insurance company since it was suggested to me by many US physiotherapists friends of mine in order to get the insurance I need and they cover me with the professional liability but looks like they don't offer general liability to students (that's weird since what's required by the hospital I'll spend my internship in is that general liability is just referred to incidents that occur in proximity to the healthcare duties, but not specifically caused by them, for example, a slip and fall coming in or going out of the office - so nothing serious as the professional liability). Obviously I'd like to get both the professional liability and general liability by the same insurance company (easier & faster), can I please ask you for an estimate for both of them? The internship period is from Feb, 13th to Apr, 11th 2017 included, I've a valid US VISA for business that allows me to come with this travel purpose (I just spent a 1 month observership in Ohio and double-checked about it), the internship is unpaid and I stayed for over 18 months in the US in the recent past (just in case they are useful to you). I appreciate your help, thank you. Please let me know as soon as possible, I've lost enough time behind this thing and I now need to go faster.

A:
