Q:I plan to buy medical insurance which meet my university's requirements. I'm holding F1 VISA. The requirements as follows: Does the policy offer adequate provider care within a 50 mile radius of the campus of enrollment? Does the policy have a deductible of $500 per accident or illness or less? Does the policy have major medical benefits of at least $500,000 per accident or illness? Does the policy provide a minimum of $25,000 for repatriation of remains and $50,000 medical evacuation to the home country? Are medical expenses for pregnancy, childbirth and complications of pregnancy treated as any other illness under the policy? Does the policy offer Prescription Medication coverage (after co-pays) with a minimum of $500,000 per insured per policy year? Is coverage valid from either January 1, 2018 or the first day classes begin at Virginia Tech until July 31, 2018 or, if graduating, the last day of the month of the student's graduation? Does the policy cover Outpatient and Inpatient Mental Health Care as any other illness? This policy has no internal caps coverage, including services, treatment or surgery. This policy has no pre-existing condition waiting period. Please help me and recommend me an appropriate health insurance. Thanks! Please reply me ASAP.

Q:I am a Harvard Law School student with F-1 visa. I am looking for an insurance for my wife with a dependent visa F-2. I have several questions as below. 1. Would there be any insurance that covers pregnancy for my wife? 2. Although my wife is not yet pregnant right now, would it be possible to purchase the insurance even after she is pregnant? 3. Is it possible to only purchase the insurance for one or two month? Or is there any minimum period to purchase the insurance? I would appreciate if you could recommend any insurance that could cover pregnancy for a short period including the rate information.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance for your wife. Please let me know you are planning to obtain insurance for yourself on F-1 visa. Are you planning to purchase tougher for both of you? If yes, there may be more options, compared to insurance only for F-2 visa holder.

Q:I used your site to get a quote. I tried two different times: when I entered my citizenship as American but country of residence as South Korea, there were no results. When I tried again, using the link you sent, the results gave me the Diplomat America plan, but the United States is listed as an unavailable home country under that plan. From your site, you have no plans for my specific situation. Is that correct? I'm concerned about what you suggested, which is using my Korean address as my home address, because as the United States is my home country, if I purchase insurance using my Korean address, wouldn't that render the insurance invalid?

A:
You are correct that the US cannot be listed as your home country to purchase insurance. Based on the insurance plans definition the Home country is the country where you live. Since you have been living in South Korea for the last 3 years then that is your home country according to the insurance. Diplomat America is the correct plan based on your situation. Insurance companies have a different understanding of Home country and that is how they can offer insurance to a US citizen visiting the US.

Q:I am a U.S. citizen who has been living in South Korea for the past 3 years. I am traveling to the United States this Saturday (1/27) for 5 weeks, and I would like to purchase travel insurance for the duration of my trip. I have a permanent address in the U.S. and I am not a South Korean resident. Do you have a plan that would cover my situation?

A:
If you are coming to the US for a visit then there are plans that you will be eligible for. You will need to use your address in South Korea as your home country address to be able to purchase the plans. You can run the quote on our website www.insubuy.com by entering the required information or provide your age, the state you will visit, and the dates of coverage and we will email you the quotes.

Q:I'm an Egyptian 34 year old female resident in Kuwait. I am 10 weeks pregnant and I want to deliver the child in the USA. Is there any insurance policy available to cover the delivery and any health care for family?

A:
Unfortunately, there is not an insurance that you could purchase to cover the cost any maternity or delivery related expenses for your pregnancy. If you are to have a baby in the United States this would be an expense that you would pay for out of pocket.
