Q:Atlas America Hi, I am planning to buy the Atlas America and would appreciate if anyone of you could clarify the below doubts 1. How much coverage is generally required for parents visiting USA. 2. Does it covers the medical emergencies during the flight journey time too thanks Sathish

A:
1. As the healthcare costs are very high in the U.S., you should buy as much as you possibly can. 2. It will cover during the travel time also provided the insurance is effective during that time. Insurance is effective at 12.01 AM Eastern on the day you specifiy. Keeping the time zone difference in mind between the US and India, you may want to consider putting the effective date one day in advance of the travel date. I hope this answers your questions. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. Thanks a lot for a quick and prompt response but I have a doubt for your below response. 1. It will cover during the travel time also provided the insurance is effective during that time. Insurance is effective at 12.01 AM Eastern on the day you specifiy. Keeping the time zone difference in mind between the US and India, you may want to consider putting the effective date one day in advance of the travel date. My parents start date from India is 4/16/2012, but atlas america is not allowing me to put the insurance effective date before 4/16/12. In such case, can I put travel date as 4/15/2012 so that I can purchase insurance from a day ahead of travel date. Thanks Sathish Yes, that is how you should do it. Thanks for that. I have purchases the ATLAS AMERICA at INSUBUY. When can I expect the package with all the documents to be delivered home. Also, I took it for a month and will renew it each month. Hope I can do so with the ATLAS AMERCIA 1. You should the emaill confirmation immediately after purchase. You can also download all the documents online at any time at /myaccount/ Insurance papers by regular mail are mailed to you on the next business day and should arrive in few days within the U.S. 2. Yes, you can certainly extend the insurance before it expires. You simply visit /myaccount/ and do it online. Alternatively, you can also call us at any time and we can extend it over the phone. I hope that answers all your questions. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. Hello, I am trying to renew the Atlas America policy. But, I just found that rather than renewing if I take a new Atlas America policy effective from the termination of the existing policy I'll be saving $72.00 for 2 people. Please let me know why this much of difference. Thanks Sathish You should definitely renew, rather than purchasing a new policy, because of at least the following reasons: 1. If the person has already developed some condition during the previous policy period (whether he knows about it or not), it will be considered as pre-existing condition and not covered in the new policy. However, if the policy is extended, it would be covered in the new duration as long as it would have been covered in the previous duration, provided there is no gap in coverage dates. 2. Effective May 1, 2012, acute onset of pre-existing conditions is effectively restricted to people under the age of 55 years. If you renew/extend, it would still be under 70 years. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. Hello, Thanks a lot for answering my queries. But, I would rather prefer to purchase new policy (for $240.00/two persons) and then keep renewing each month for the next 4 months, instead of renew/extending the existing policy (for $312.00/two persons), because no NEW health condition will develop in a month's time until and unless it is an bodily injury/accident. If suppose I extend the current policy after a bodily injury/accident which took place during the current policy period will this incident be covered?? Please let me know if I am wrong with my understanding. Thanks kvvsm 1. You never know what would happen (or what has already happened). But is finally up to you. If you would like to buy the new one, you can do so at /atlasamerica-insurance/ If you would like to extend the current one, you can do so at /myaccount/ 2. As long as it was covered in the previous policy period and you extend before it expires (that is, no gap in coverage and no repurchase), it would be covered after you extend the insurance. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Q:What kind of visitors insurance should I buy? Many people ask what kind of visitors insurance they should buy. There are two major categories of visitors insurance plans: Fixed: Cheaper, less coverage and has sub-limits for each benefit Comprehensive: more expensive, much better coverage that is percentage based. Please note that the benefits in the fixed coverage benefits are a lot less than then actual expenses. You should always buy comprehensive coverage plan. How much coverage should you buy in comprehensive coverage? You should buy as much as you can. We are not saying this to charge you more premium, but the reality is that healthcare expenses are very high in the U.S. and they are going up every day. e.g., we just came to know about one person whose father got a heart attack and one day hospital bill is more than $82,000 (Yes, eithty two thousand US dollars.) When you invite your old relatives to the U.S., there is only so much risk you can transfer to the insurance company for the new problems. For everything else, you are taking the risk yourself, in case something happens that is not a covered expense. You must decide how much risk you are willing to take before inviting them to the U.S. No insurance company is going to take the complete risk with them so that you can invite them worry free. (No insurance company can stay in business like that.) Therefore, we recommend that you visit insubuy.com and purchase the best and the most coverage you possibly can for your loved one visting the U.S.

Q:Question about ATLAS America I am looking at buying atlas america for my Mother who is visiting US. She is 55. I see that policy maximum is 50,000 and Onset of prexisting upto 15000. Thats probably enough, but I will have more peace of mind If I had 100k coverage. Another site\Agent has Altas America listed with higher coverages for a higher premium. Are these the same or they are different? It looks different because PPO networks are different. Why is Insubuy not offering policies with coverage higher that 50k?

A:
It is the same Atlas America that everyone offers. We have the same policy maximums as anyone else. I can't comment about other web sites, but I can assure you that the information on our web site is the latest and most up to date and accurate. Please visit and /atlasamerica-insurance/ To do the quotes, you will first see the option to choose the policy maximum. You will see the quotes for the policy maximum you choose. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. Thank you so much!...Response was really fast. In the home page where you compare different plans if you change insurance maximum from to 50-65k ...It does not show any results for comprehensive. sorry....my bad....I the range 70-85 doesn't return any results. I assumed that no comprehensive plans were available above 50k. 100 to 125 indeed returns results. You are right. There are no comprehensive plans in in 70-85 range. Atlas America offers 50k, 100k, 200k, 500k and 1 million. (Of course, for older ages, the higher policy max are not available.) I hope that answers your questions. For any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. Please note that we are available 7 days a week to help you in any way we can.

Q:Visitor Insurance My brother's in laws are planning to come to the US sometime in May. Mother-in-law (MIL) and Father-in-law (FIL) both are < 70 years old. MIL is diabetic and so I guess this will be considered as a pre-existing condition! FIL does not have any pre existing condition. So can we go with Atlast America for both of them? Also FIL will be turning 70 in Sept. So what would you recommend in such case? So can we initially take Atlast America and then switch to Visitor Care in Sept for FIL? Is that allowed? What would be your recommendation? Please let us know. Thank you.

A:
Yes, you can purchase Atlas America for both of them. You can purchase it online at /atlasamerica-insurance/ It is not recommended that you switch plans in between because it is not a good idea to break continuity. You can continue Atlas America for your father-in-law even after he turns 70 years (If you have purchased the coverage higher than $50,000, it would drop to $50,000 when he turns 70.) I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. But if we initially get a coverage of 100,000 and would like to continue with the same coverage of 100,000 and do not want to switch then do we have any such plans that takes care for both the ages i.e. < 70 and > 70? Also do we buy the insurance separately for MIL and FIL? You can consider buying Patriot Platinum America. It is $1,000,000 for people below 70 years of age and it is $100,000 for people 70 years of age and above. /patriot-america-platinum-insurance/ It is comprehensive coverage plan. There is no harm in purchasing separately for mother in law and father in law. In fact, we always recommend that you do that. Even if you buy $100,000 for 70+, if it is a fixed coverage plan, you will have much lesser coverage than $50,000 comprehensive coverage in most cases.

Q:New GC holder moving to US - Advice needed I'm 26 yrs old and will be entering the US for the first time on my GC. The two plans I'm looking at are Patriot America with Adventure Sports Rider and $100 deductible, and Seven Corners Inbound Immigrant with $150 deductible. This is for one year coverage. Premiums are; Patriot America - $617 Inbound Immigrant - $614 Patriot America is a comprehensive plan which seems to be highly recommended. What would be the reason to go with Inbound Immigrant if the prices are practically the same? Don't forget that the Patriot America premium is including the Adventure Sports Rider coverage. This is all new to me so any advice is most appreciated!

A:
Patriot America - Max length 2 years Inbound Immigrant - Max length 5 years Other than that, you should have no reason to buy Inbound Immigrant at your age. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.
