Q:Hi there, I am a Canadian 24 year old woman planning on taking a trip with my partner in order to go visit their sick father in Ireland and I wanted to purchase the best travel insurance in order to have no worries while travelling right now. What are the major difference between purchasing insurance through your website or through a Canadian company? I understand that the American companies have Covid-19 coverage, but I was wondering since I am Canadian would I be covered in the same ways an American would when buying with you? Thank you.

A:
We are not able to compare plans offered from another company or another country. We are only able to advise about the plans that we offer. Some plans are available to U.S. citizens and residents only, and some are available to them as well as non- U.S. citizens and non- U.S.residents. However, whoever is eligible for a plan would have the same benefits. The plans do not change coverage based on any individual person. We do offer plans that do not exclude coverage for Covid-19 which can be found through the below quote link: /covid19-travel-medical-insurance/ As long as the virus were contracted after the effective date of the policy, it would be covered as any other new illness. If contracted before the effective date, it would be deemed pre-existing and not covered as the plans do not cover preventative care, routine maintenance, or pre-existing conditions. If you need any additional assistance, please let us know.

Q:Seven Corners Claim analyst told us that the flight receipt and ticket we got from Delta showing confirmation of payment and source of payment and date of payment and ticket number and confirmation number, AND a copy of the bank statement showing the line item transaction of DATE of payment, and amount of payment TO DELTA that matched the flight receipt and ticket we got from DELTA did not constitute proof of payment, and wouldn't tell me why, except to say, they needed the original invoice, but wouldn't tell us WHAT that WAS if it wasn't the flight receipt and ticket! Then my wife sent a screen shot of her DELTA account statement that showed the transaction. It was ignored by Seven Corners. Lucky for us, DELTA fully refunded our tickets. I was totally baffled by her assertion. Any Comments?

Q:I need to buy health insurance for my 21 yr old daughter who is visiting the states. We are Canadian. What do you recommend?

A:
We would recommend one of our visitor plans currently that do not exclude coverage for Covid-19. With these recommended plans below, if someone contracts the virus after the effective date, it would be covered as any other new illness. /atlasamerica-insurance/ *The Atlas America plan does have geopraphic retrictions, so if your daughter is physically located in Canada, New York, Maryland, or Washington, she will not be able to purchase this plan. /safe-travels-usa-comprehensive-insurance/ /safe-travels-usa-cost-saver-insurance/ This difference between the 2 Safe Travels plans is that the first one, Safe Travels USA Comprehensive has Acute onset benefits. Please see the link below for information about Acute onset benefits: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ Because of your daughter's age, if you are not concerned about pre-existing conditions, then you could go with the second Safe Travels Cost Saver option. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Q:Please explain the process to get Covid test

A:
Please be advised that all plans, including your plan, will not cover elective testing, meaning you can not go get tested to see if you have Covid-19 and cannot request a test from a doctor. If you become ill and a doctor based on your symptoms orders a Covid-19 test, it could be covered unless it is determined to be positive and determined by the attending physician, that you contracted the virus before the effective date of the policy. If anything is contracted before the effective date of a policy, it would be deemed pre-existing and not covered. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:We (husband and wife) are Indian citizens, holding Green Card. We arrived from India in the USA in December 2019 and had planned to return in July 2020. Our visitors' insurance policy taken in India is currently valid upto 4 August 2020. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, our flight is cancelled and we are not sure how long we will be in the USA. How can we have medical insurance cover after August 4?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. We would recommend the Diplomat America plan for yourself and your spouse as it will cover any new illness or injury that manifests in the body after the effective date, including COVID-19. Keep in mind the plans will not cover any pre-existing condition, preventative or routine care. Should you have additional questions you can call our office at (866) 467-8289.
