Q:I am bringing my parents who are currently living in Colombia to visit me to Washington State, USA and Vancouver, BC Canada for three or four weeks in Sept 2018. I'd like to know what would be the best travel/medical insurance to cover them in both countries. My father's age is 76 -Canadian citizen living in Colombia, and my mother's age is 68 -only a Colombian citizen. The travel dates will most likely be Sept 1st to Sept 25th.

A:
The plans are designed to cove the new accidents and new illness that happen after the effective date of the policy. The plans will not cover pre-existing conditions, routine doctor's visit, immunizations, nor any medications as it relates to medications. Some plans will cover for what is called an Acute Onset of a pre-existing condition. For those under the age of 69 it will be covered up to the chosen policy maximum. For those 70 and above there is one plan that will cover an acute onset of a pre-existing condition up to $25,000. For your uncle there is a plan called Safe Travels USA Comprehensive that would be recommended. For your mother in law there is a plan called Atlas America that would be recommended.

Q:My husband and I are British citizens and live in the UK. We retired and plan to spend next few year travel around, are we eligible to apply for worldwide travel medical insurance?

A:
We do offer worldwide travel insurance. I have attached two links below where you can review the plans that would be available to you. The first link below is for travel plans for visitors to the U.S., and the second link is for worldwide travel excluding the U.S. Since I am not sure of where you will be traveling, I have provided both types of plans. They can be purchased for a year at a time, or some of the plans are extendable meaning you can purchase them for a certain amount of time for example like a month and then renew them as needed. After looking over the plan options, if you have any questions, please let us know and we would be glad to assist.Visiting USA Traveling Outside USA

Q:We are working in the USA on an E2 visa, but our residence is in Spain. We would like to know if your insurance plans could cover us for a one day trip to NY State to ski. We currently have a traveler's insurance plan, but it does not cover us for skiing.

A:
The plans are a minimum 5 day purchase. The Patriot America Plus plan would be the most suitable coverage available for you as it will cover you for recreational skiing within marked zones.

Q:I am looking for medical insurance for parents visiting USA on dated 03/05/2018, they are staying in California for two months (March-April-2018) and then will go to Canada for three months (May/June/July-2018), thereafter they will stay two months in US again (August/September-2018). My father age is 74 years old and mother is 72. They are both Indian Citizens. I am looking for insurance with the following requirements: 1. Acute onset of pre-existing conditions 2. Plan would cover 100% up to the policy maximum for all covered services, 3. Any rider is available for more insurance benefit for acute health conditions 4. Easy to renew and extended insurance. 5. Is there a special rider you may add to increase limit for acute onset benefit?.

A:
We provide insurance from many companies. It's very difficult to get insurance with acute onset of pre-existing conditions for 70+. You can purchase Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan. You don't need to take rider to cover an acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Safe Travels USA Comprehensive,- For US trip For Coverage in Canada, you can purchase Atlas International or Patriot International plan but it will not cover acute onset of pre-existing because of their residence country and age. But you can get coverage for any new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the eff. date of the policy.
