Q:I'm a British Citizen who's studying in Connecticut on a F1 visa. I'm looking for the best health insurance that's going to cover my needs, yet still very affordable! I was wondering if you could recommend a plan that might suit my needs. It can be pretty basic. I was looking for something that I could use to see a doctor and medication the prescribe or if they needed to do further work. e.g blood tests or x rays. Cover accidents that may require me to go to hospital. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

A:

Q:Please let me know if this visa is valid for applying Schengen visa and you will be sending a certificate for swiss consulate. Also, is there any discount coupon which is valid?

A:
The Atlas International plan meets the Schengen visa requirements. We also recommend that you select a $0 deductible. Immediately after purchase you will receive an email confirmation with access to the visa letter. Since the premiums are governed by law, there are no discounts. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

I was in yr website a couple of mins ago and was interested in purchasing a policy , However I need some clarifications, AA) The visitor will be visiting Canada first for about twenty five days and then visiting the U.S. Will the comprehensive policy which we intend buying cover their stay in Canada as well as the US. ( IF so pls advise the list of doc or hospitals they could see in case an emergency arises.) The short term policies offered through our website will cover individuals anywhere outside of their home country including international travels as long as the destination is not the home country. Providers inside the PPO Networks will only be available while inside the USA. BBB) What is the age bracket that you company covers . Most plans will cover ages 0-89. Very few plans will provide coverage for ages above 89, remember the older our visitors become the less coverage will be available. CC) Does one has to obtain an N.O.C from the family doc before venturing out on their trip ? No medical exams are required as the short policies will cover only new injuries and new sicknesses that should happen after the effective date of the policy. But, it is always good to get a check-up in your home country before traveling. DD) Does the comprehensive ins cover any trivial pre-existing illnesses. The plans will NOT cover pre-existing conditions, routine maintenance or preventative care. EE) In case you cannot cover Canada , can u suggest and alternative . Coverage is provided in Canada as long as it is not the home country. FF) What are the various periods of coverage you offer .. eg 1 month , two monts, six months, a year and their comprehensive prices The most you can purchase at once is 12 months. Depending on the plan and your visa status you may be able to extend the policy beyond the initial 12 months GG) If we have to purchase a one year policy and are leaving the US in 20 days, do not need to go to a doc will I get a refund You may cancel a policy if needed. A cancellation fee will apply and some policies will issue a pro-rated refund as long as no claims have been filed since the effective date of the policy. Q:I have some questions regarding acute onset of preexisting condition offered by some of the insurances. My parents are planning to visit US this summer. My Dad has high cholesterol and is diabetic. My question is 1. God forbid anything should happen to him when he is US like heart attack or stroke, is that considered an acute onset of preexisting condition and will all the medical expenses related to that be covered after deductible and co-insurance, by either of the below two insurance plans, Atlas America and Patriot America Plus. 2. My dad will turn seventy when he is in US. Will he loose coverage after he turns 70, since both of the above insurance says < 70 yrs. 3. They will be visiting Canada after US, will both of the above insurance cover illnesses in Canada also if there is any. 4. Will both of insurances pay directly to the service providers if the doctors visited and in network. Thanks in Advance for your answer.

A:
Answers for your questions below: 1. Both plan provides coverage for acute onset of pre-ex up to policy max. you chose. Heart attack or stroke may come under Acute Onset of Pre-existing Conditions. But we can't say for sure yes or no now. Because it will be determined by the claim dept. based on the attending physician notes and as per the certificate wording of the plan. 2. Both plan as long as you extend the policy. His policy will be continuous policy and there will not be any change in the policy max. once he turns 70yrs. Under Patriot America plus plan his premium remains same at the extension time. He will pay the same premium for one year from the eff. date of the policy. While Under Atlas America plan when you extend the policy premium will be according to his new age group. 3. Both Atlas America and Patriot America plus plans are an international plan will provide coverage anywhere in the world except his home country. 4. Both of the plan has a PPO network. So most of the time if you go in the network provider should billed directly. But sometime Dr. office may ask you to pay upfront. But for hospitalization or any major expense hospital billed directly. Please visit our website. Enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to call our office at (866)INSUBUY and will be glad to explain in detail.
