Q:Help regarding visitor insurance for parents with pre-existing condition Hello, My parents are going to visit US soon for 6 months. Here is brief information about them: Father: 66 years old, mild diabetes, high blood pressure (never had issue) Mother: 63 years old, high diabetes, is more prone to rapid blood sugar changes which may need hospitalization or urgent consultation (has happened in past). Blood pressure They will be staying in Indiana. Considering they are going to be with us for 6 months, I would like to go with a insurance with higher coverage amount, wider illness coverage. I am ready to pay little bit higher premium for a good insurance suitable for my parents medical condition. Can you suggest few options? Thank you so much for the help.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors insurance for your parents. Please look at Atlas America insurance at /atlasamerica-insurance/ It can cover up to $1,000,000 in new medical conditions. Additionally, it can also cover up to $100,000 in acute onset of pre-existing conditions. I highly recommend that you read /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ to understand that better. Please note that there is no visitors insurance plan available anywhere that will cover routine maintenance related to pre-existing conditions. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Q:Health insurance subsidy for F2 visa under ACA? Hi, I am on an F2 visa and my husband is a student and gets a stipend from the university. His health insurance is sponsored by the university and mine is not. And if I do have to enroll, it seems to be very expensive. I would want to know if I would be eligible to enroll into the private health plans and be eligible for a subsidy? I am a little confused because a few of the websites say that I need to file a joint tax return with my spouse to be eligible but however, I am unemployed and dont have a source of income in USA and thus, dont have to file tax or tax return. However, I will be filed as a dependent under him when he files tax. Could you please suggest regarding my eligibility? Thanks, Sri

A:
For any questions related to ACA or subsidy, please contact Obamacare directly. We have no information about it.

Q:Health Insurance for F2 Dependent (Spouse + Kid) Hi, I am finding health insurance plan. Could you please advise: I will bring my wife and my little daughter here in Worcester, MA from January 15th. My wife is 29 and daughter is 3 years old. Below what I am looking for: Only Dental care for me (this is because I am enrolling in UnitedHealthCare at school but my plan does not cover dental care). My wife currently is not pregnant. But maybe next 6 months after I graduate, we might want to have one more baby. Which plan is best suitable for her? What if during the plan she changes her visa status to H4B? I do not think she need dental or vision care. About my daughter, actually I am looking for plan that cover most of care include dental and vision care. And sometimes emergency situation such as: my kid might have flu at night and we want to see the doctor immediately. Surgery care, etc ... We might travel outside US and any health plan the cover outside US? Thanks,

If you are enrolling yourself in the insurance through school, why don't you do the same for your dependents? If you are enrolling yourself in the insurance through school, why don't you do the same for your dependents? First of all, it is $2000. And it does not cover dental. If you want to more coverage, it goes much more expensive. Finally, I am never go to see doctor in two years and I do not know why I have to pay for expensive one. I am looking for a affordable one. Then, why are you buying yours through school? Then, why are you buying yours through school? Automatically enrolled. Next time I will cancel it. Apparently, you are looking for insurance at significantly lower price but high coverage for your dependents only. That is not possible. For F2 only, you can't buy any student plans because you are not enrolling yourself. You will have travel plans such as /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ They will not cover any pre-existing conditions, preventive check ups, maternity, birth control, dental etc. It will primarily be for new medical conditions, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. For dental, you can enroll your entire family at $12/month and one time application fee of $20 at /careington-dental-vision-plan/ Apparently, you are looking for insurance at significantly lower price but high coverage for your dependents only. That is not possible. For dental, you can enroll your entire family at $12/month and one time application fee of $20 at /careington-dental-vision-plan/ Thanks for quick response. Sorry for not be clear. Could I buy health insurance separately for each family member? I am looking for heath insurance that it can be around $1500/year for my daughter but high coverage. Is any plan available that include dental/vision for kids? I mean all in one. For my wife, for now she only needs insurance for regular checks (for example when gets flu). She is in excellent health now with no need for maternity or birth control. She does not need dental as well. What we have to do to let you know that? Does my wife have to do a check before buying insurance? $1000/year for her is the plan I am looking for. It should have good covreage. Could you explain what is "new medical conditions"? Does it means patriot-america-insurance cover maternity in the future? Maternity is excluded in Patriot America plan. Medical and dental are two separate things. Therefore, you have to buy them separately. You will have to either pay more money at school and get insurance through them for your dependents or you get less coverage at less price with us. Cheap and best wouldn't come together. I suggest that you call our office so that we can discuss with you in detail about your options quickly and efficiently. Hi, I am finding health insurance plan. Q:Insurance for my family I am going to start my PhD in Mississippi from Spring 14. I will be covered with the university provided group insurance plan from January 1, 2014. I am traveling to the USA with my family (wife & 2yr old son) on December 19, 2013. Can you suggest what would be a suitable plan for 3 of us for this 14 days? Now the other issue is, for dependents university policy requires semester/year wide coverage. But, it is not certain how long will they stay as they might come back to Bangladesh for visits and stay. Then again, I wish to have them at least covered all the time for any medical emergencies. Since, I have read here that for spouse and child to be covered, student need to be in the plan as well, what would be the other viable option for them to be covered during their stay in the USA. Your input would be highly appreciated.

A:
Does your school have any minimum requirements that must be met for your dependents' insurance? Does your school have any minimum requirements that must be met for your dependents' insurance? As far as I know, my school doesn't have any sort of requirements for dependents' insurance. In that case, you can just one of the travel medical insurance plans such as /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ Please note it will not cover any pre-existing conditions, preventive check ups, immunizations, school check ups, maternity, birth control etc. Thanks for the information. I will look into it.

Q:Question regarding deductible and PPO Hello, I am planning to but Atlas comprehensive coverage with a deductible of 1000$ for my parents. If I go to for a doctor visit in the PPO network for first time will I need to pay complete amount till 1000$ is reached? Or will I need to pay only 20% of the amount since I am visiting a PPO doctor even though my deductible is not satisfied. Please let me know, as I have to decide whether we need to go for atlas comprehensive or fixed coverage. Ashu

A:
For Dr visit, you will have to pay everything yourself until the deductible is satisfied. On the other hand, in Atlas America, if you visit an urgent care in the US, you don't have to pay the deductible first.

Q:health insurance for J2 only; spouse and daughter Hi. If I am enrolled with another helath insurance company (Garnett and Powers which is a partner of my host university) as a J1 Visa holder, can I apply for an independent health insurance for my husband and my 3 year old daughter who are both on J2 visa? Best regards

A:
What exactly are the requirements for J2 visa insurance for your school? Same as their requirements for J1, which are, - $500,000 per person, per accident/illness in medical coverage - An annual deductible of no more than $250 - Coinsurance that does not exceed 25% - Medical evacuation up to $10,000 - Repatriation up to $7,500 I am assuming that you have insurance through your school for J1. In that case, you can purchase /patriot-exchange-program-insurance/ for J2 visa person.
