Q:My wife is a US Citizen and we plan to go to India for a year. During the period in case she gets pregnant we would want to come back to deliver the baby in the US. I just wanted to confirm one thing. On your website you mention that there are no such plans which cover the hospitalization costs for a pregnancy (https://www.insubuy.com/us-visitor-insurance-for-pregnancy-coverage/). However this plan, Global Medical is an exception to that?

A:
The FAQ that you are referring to is applicable to visitors into the United States. As your wife is a U.S. citizen that FAQ would not be applicable to her as she is not considered a visitor in the United States. Your families case is considerably different than that scenario. As your wife would be considered an expatriate she would be eligible for this policy. As long as the covered individual resides out of the United States more than 6 months out of the years they are eligible for the plan. So this plan would be the exception to that statement but not as it relates to a visitor into the United States. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Q:Hi, what kind of insurance would you suggest me; I am a 36 years old girl who travel into US maybe 4 to 5 time a year just for pleasure and vacations, I am Canadian, I wish to get an health insurance that included baby delivery, complications during labor and post natal care, I am not pregnant but I plan it in the next few years. You said there is no insurance for international visitor which covers pregnancy but in the Inbound immigrant brochure pregnancy is cover up to $2800?

A:
The Inbound Immigrant plan will cover $2,800 in maternity cost but the average cost to deliver a child in the United States without complications can exceed the amounts of $20 to 25 thousand dollars if not more. So we would never recommend a plan to a customer to cover the expenses of a delivery in the amount of$2,800 as this would not cover these expenses. So our previous statement still stands there is no insurance for an international visitor which covers pregnancy. This is an expenses that you will have to pay for out of pocket if your plan is to cover maternity cost in the United States. Q:Need basic Travel insurance for parents specifically for travel within US.

A:
We are a broker and offer all of the major plans available on the market for someone visiting the U.S. or traveling internationally. There are two types of short term medical insurance plans available for a visitor. The first type is a fixed coverage plan, and the second type is a comprehensive coverage plan. The plans are designed to cover any new illness, injury or accident which occurs after the effective date of the policy. They will not cover pre-existing conditions, preventative treatments, or routine doctors' visits. Out of the two types of plans we recommend the comprehensive coverage plans since they will pay a percentage of the cost in the event something occurs, more specifically the Patriot America Plus or the Atlas America. You may use the link provided to view the plan options available, and obtain a quote. You may also obtain a quote and recommendation over the phone by contacting our office at (866) INSUBUY. If you have any questions please let us know.

Q:I am a USA citizen currently living in Australia on a Bridging Visa. This visa allows we to live and work in the country until the government has made a decision about my permanent residency. I have booked a trip home to the USA for 2 weeks in May (6-22May), however I am struggling to find medical coverage, due to the wording on most policies. I see on your website that you have helped people in similar situations. However, when I go to the home page and try to input the information as follows, it does not appear to have a box to select my "Home Country" Can you please advise me on how to proceed, to ensure that I am covered?

A:
In order to better assist you please provide the state that you will need coverage in an we will be more than happy to send you q quote for coverage . When quoting, it is not necessary for you to provide your home country, you will simply select that you are a U.S. citizen looking for coverage in the USA and specify the state that you need coverage in. Considering the screenshot you have sent all of your sections are correct you would just need to enter the state that you need coverage in. This will bring up plans that you are able to select for coverage.

Q:My wife is travelling to US (New Jersey) to visit our relatives with my daughter for 3 months from UK. I want to buy a Travel + Medical Insurance for them. Here are there details - 1. My Wife : DOB : 15 Jul 1985 Current Medical situation - She has gallstones. She has not had any gallstone attack for last 1 year as she is on a controlled diet. I would like to take a policy that can take care of an emergency rush to the hospital for a pain killer injection in case she gets an attack. 2. My daughter : DOB - 10 Nov 2015 Current Medical situation - No medical problems. I need a policy to cover any sort of illness that can happen to an infant. I am thoroughly confused about which policy should I take for them. Can you please guide me whether I should go for a Fixed Coverage one or a Comprehensive coverage one? And if there is a specific policy that suits the situation, please advise.

A:
The Atlas America plan would be an option for your traveling spouse. Plans will not cover the pre-existing conditions, but will offer coverage for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. This coverage may be useful for your wife on her travels. For more information about this coverage please see Acute Onset FAQ. This Atlas America plan is a family friendly plan and will cover your daughter at no additional cost with a cover parent on the plan with her. You can use the link to review the plan and to generate a quote for coverage.
