Q:I am looking for insurance that include medical insurance and also trip cancelation and trip interruption coverage. My flight is covered by frequent flier miles. If for some reason any of my covered flight is canceled would trip interruption coverage allow me to buy a new ticket?

A:
We do have Trip cancellation plans available to U.S. residents that do include medical benefits as well. You can find those plans through this link: /travel-insurance/ However, Frequent Flier miles are not covered under any plan. Only non-refundable trip costs with receipts of funds paid can be covered under a trip cancellation plan. Also, trip interruption benefits are for after departure on a trip and usually only apply to the death of an immediate family member in home country, or destruction to your principle residence in home country. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Unfortunately, there are no visitors insurance plans that will provide coverage for expected medical treatment. The plans are designed to cover someone primarily for a new illnesses, injuries or accidents that either exist in the body or occurs after the effective date.

Q:Dear Sir or Madam,I am a German citizen who will do an internship in New York starting from April 2023 with an international organization. I will therefore require a G4 visa. I am confused as to whether there is a requirement to obtain medical insurance for this visa and if so, which medical insurance plans fulfill these requirements. If you could recommend such plan to me or provide me with further information, I would be very delighted.Thank you very much in advance.

A:
We first recommend to contact the consulate since insurance requirements can change on a daily basis. Once you do feel free to contact an agent with your requirements and they would be happy to show you all the plans available.

Q:Hi, I have applied for my mom green card and waiting for green card. Can my mom qualify for new immigration specific plan or need to stick to visitors visa. I already have visitors visa which will expire on 1st Jan and i can renew but have to get a new one so instead of vistors visa can i get new immigrant specific plan for my mom.thanks

A:
You may repurchase the Safe Travels Elite plan as long as they insured hasn't been in the US for more than 1 year. An alternative option is the Visitors Care or the Patriot America Plus. These plans will cover your mother until her green card application is approved. Once the green card application is approved, you may purchase a domestic insurance through your state's healthcare exchange.
