Q:For my son F1 Visa, Freshmen student at Virginia Polytechnic and State University, Blacksburg VA), I want to buy an International Student Insurance for 1 year starting 26th August 2019. Request you to please give us the exact quote for the above mentioned time duration?

A:
We would be glad to assist, however, the below requirements state it must be an ACA compliant plan. The only place we know of where an F1 visa holder can get a plan like that, would be the domestic plan the school offers to their students. We would not have any plans that meet these requirements.

Q:Hi! I am looking for health insurance which covers maternity (even after some waiting period) for my spouse on J2 visa.

A:
Unfortunately, there is no plan that will cover the J2 alone for maternity. If she is eligible for your insurance then you can check to see if that plan will cover it.

Q:I'm confused between - Patriot America and Safe Travels USA Cost Saver, which one would you recommend. My parents don't have any existing condition. Back in India they recently did complete body examination and all looks good.

A:
We would be glad to assist. Either one of those plans would be recommended when not seeking acute onset benefits for pre-existing conditions. They do use different PPO networks so if you prefer one to the other that might be something to consider. You can check how many providers are in your area for each one through their links on the website. Also, Safe Travels USA Cost Saver will waive the chosen deductible as long as you stay within the PPO network. This could be an option to get the premium cost lower by taking a higher deductible and staying within the network. However, the deductible would not be waived out of network or for pharmacy. When you run a quote on our website here, there is a compare option where you can look at them side by side to see if one has any specific benefits the other does not that you may be interested in.

Q:I am looking to buy a health insurance for 12 months that would meet both US J-1 visiting scholar and Schengen visa requirements. I am planning to move between US and France and do not have the exact dates for my travel yet, so it would be really convenient if I could have one insurance policy for both locations. Could you please recommend such a plan? I am Canadian citizen residing in South Korea, with no preexisting conditions.

A:
Please check out Atlas America Insurance.

Q:My family and I are Filipino Citizens with a US Immigrant Visa and we currently reside here in the UAE until my last working day which is very soon. We would go back home to the Philippines first for 15 days before we travel to the US and stay there permanently. I would need a travel insurance that would cover our travel in the Philippines and the first 30 days of our stay there in the US. I am with my wife and 3 children. What are the options you can offer me?

A:
We would be glad to assist. You will need to purchase 2 separate plans. One for your travel to the Philippines and one for the first 30 days in the U.S. The plans that will work for your travel to the Philippines can be found in our Travel Outside USA section. The plans that will work for the time you are in the U.S. before being eligible to obtain domestic insurance you will find here. If you have any questions or need any additional assistance, please let us know.
