Q:Does my insurance work at Bangkok Pattata hospital Thailand?

A:
Direct billing is up to the provider. They will either direct bill the insurance company with the information provided on your ID card for providers, or they will have you pay them up front and file for reimbursement. Your plan covers for new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest, or are contracted after the effective date. As long as your treatment or service obtained is for a covered expenses, you would be reimbursed up to your plans benefit levels. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:I am planning a trip to Aruba in February. I am hearing that people are detained there if they test positive for Covid-19. Does the insurance cover my accommodations and food costs while I am detained ?

A:
We do have plans that can provide travel delay benefits which would be used if you are required to quarantine trying to depart back to home country. Those plans can be found here: /covid19-travel-insurance-with-quarantine-coverage/ There are plans available to U.S. residents and then as you scroll down the list, you will see plans for non U.S. residents as well. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:If you are traveling international and you test negative for covid within 72 hours of leaving, but when you arrive and they test you and you test positive what is covered?

A:
For the plans that have COVID-19 coverage, it is treated just like any other illness that is contracted after the effective date to provide the medically necessary treatment. In addition to this, the COVID-19 Travel Insurance with Quarantine Coverage can help pay for accommodations and lodging from being quarantined past your planned return home date.

Q:I am traveling to Poland in February. I purchased the plane ticket through reward miles. What type of travel insurance would be best to purchase? I do have United Health Care insurance from my work, but am wondering what type of travel insurance coverage is best

A:
We have Travel Medical insurance plans that can cover you anywhere outside of your home country for new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. We also have plans that can provide benefits for Covid-19 if contracted after the effective date, up to the selected plan benefit levels. You can search for plans through this link for Travel Medical that also include Covid-19 coverage: /covid19-travel-medical-insurance/ We do offer trip insurance plans that can cover non-refundable trip costs for specified named reasons on a policy. However, reward miles are not something our trip insurance plans cover as there is not a monetary loss if you do not travel. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:airline cancelled my flight just after free look period of travel insurance. They are stating they will not refund my travel insurance premium. There is no trip to insure now since they cancelled. Can I get a refund.

A:
While plan specific, if a Travel or Trip Insurance is non-refundable after a certain number of days or a Free Look Period, then no, there would not be a refund available regardless of whether or not the travel takes place. Some plans will allow you to change coverage dates if you if you are traveling at a later date and your current policy is not yet active, but again that would be plan specific and you would need to contact the broker for your policy to confirm this is an option. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:Hello,I have a question about a policy I recently obtained. Can you confirm that for the Quarantine Coverage, this applies if you need to extend a trip (remain in the foreign country) due to the need to Quarantine? Or, is the policy only valid if you need to postpone a trip?

A:
If you are ordered to quarantine and the plan has trip delay benefits, the plan will provide those benefits even after the policy expires up to the plan's benefit levels. However, you can extend the policy if you would like to continue medical coverage as that would end when the plan expires. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
