Q:We are located in California and attempting to purchase the Bridge Plan for my mother in law. We are running into some issue, could you please advise why we are unable to purchase this plan?

A:
The Bridge Plan is not available in CA but International Major Medical is. The Patriot plans are available only if your mother in law still maintains a residence outside of the U.S.

Q:Dear Sir/Madam, I am looking to buy medical insurance for myself and my wife. I'm not sure whether the plans I'm looking at are suitable for me, perhaps you could advise. My wife and I will be getting our US green cards in January, and will be traveling to and from the US back to our home in UK during 2020, setting ourselves up in America. We are likely to spend most of our time in the US (as required by the Green Card -- we will become residents of the US) but we will keep our house in the UK, return to the UK during the year, and keep bank accounts open back in the UK. We estimate spending around 9-10 months in the US during 2020. This will likely be in California and/or New York. We plan on making the US our home from 2021 onward, and may well take out healthcare through the US marketplace from 1st January 2021 onward, so we're looking for cover for the 11 months from 1st Feb to end of the year. We would be happy to take out a year's coverage (if the is necessary) and either cancel the final month or end up having an overlap. We have no pre-existing conditions and we would be looking to have at least $1million each coverage. We are happy to take out a $2000-$5000 deductible. My date of birth is 06/OCT/1985, my wife's is 16/OCT/1981. We are both British Citizens

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. As long as you still have a residence outside the US then you can purchase the Patriot plans from the New Immigrant section of our website You would purchase the plans for the duration you are in the US and not for the full year. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am an international student at Virginia tech. I attached insurance waiver form. Could you check it and tell me the most reasonable option to me? Coverage dates from 01/21/2020 to 12/19/2020 Visa status is F1 Citizenship is South Korea

A:
The plans available on the market are not going to meet their requirements. We recommend you purchase the plan that your university offers to meet their requirements.

Q:I am looking to insure my travel to Europe from 3rd Jan 2020 to 9th March 2020. I reside in the US (F1 Student visa), but am currently in India for my winter break. - Can i still apply for insurance on Insubuy even when i am not currently present in the USA? Also, is the coverage cashless, i.e. would the insurance pay for charges directly or do I have to pay out of pocket and then file for reimbursement?

A:
You are able to purchase insurance for your travels to France even though you are outside of the United States. You can view the the plans in our Schengen Visa Insurance section to select an appropriate plan and make your purchase. If they providers are willing to bill directly the plans will pay directly to the provider for the eligible expenses.

Q:I would like to inquire about getting a medical coverage once I am in the U.S. Right now I am awaiting for my visa interview which will take place on November 5th in Tashkent Uzbekistan. There is a new requirement for newly arriving immigrants to show proof of their eligibility for medical coverage upon their arrival to the U.S. and I'd like to see what my options are if getting coverage through Anthem.

A:
We would be glad to assist. When going to the interview appointment, you are now required to show proof of coverage for 1 year when applying to enter the U.S. as a new immigrant. I am attaching the links for the plans that will offer 1 full year of coverage that can be purchased based on your situation. Patriot America Insurance Patriot America Plus Insurance Visitors Care Insurance I am not sure if by Anthem, you are referring to Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield which is a U.S. domestic insurance, however, you would not be able to apply for that type of coverage until after arrival in the U.S. If once you arrive, you obtain other insurance like Anthem for example, you could then cancel the plan you purchase now with proof of other coverage.

A:
The only way you will be able to obtain an employer based insurance is by obtaining a job from an employer in you are. There is nothing that we can offer to you to meet that requirement.
