Q:Greetings, I want to ask if the insurance cover the delivery of my wife ( she has J2 dependent visa) or does it decrease the money paid at the hospital ??

A:
Unfortunately there are no plans for visitors to the US that will offer coverage for maternity related expenses, including delivery, once someone is already pregnant. If you would like to have your baby in the US, you should expect to pay fully out-of-pocket for all related expenses. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:According to the J1 insurance requirement by TAMU, "Co-insurance not to exceed 25% of the expenses occurred per accident or illness". But your J insurance plans mention co-insurance as 100% or 80/20. Are those same? I'm not able to understand that. Could you please clarify?

A:
All the plans in the J1/J2 Exchange visitors section of the website will meet the minimum insurance requirements set for J visa holders. The optional co-insurances on the ExchangeGuard plans (100/0 and 80/20) will not exceed a 25% co-insurance (75/25). Either co-insurance would meet that requirement, however we always recommend a co-insurance of 100/0 as it will always pay out more if something were to happen. The co-insurance is just the percentage that you pay v.s. the percentage that the insurance pays. For further clarification, here is an example of what each co-insurance would pay out for a covered expense: For a $100 doctors bill, assuming the deductible is $0, this is how each plan would pay. 100/0 - plan pays $100, you pay $0 80/20- plan pays $80, you pay $20 75/25 (25%) - plan pays $75, you pay $25 If you have any additional questions please let us know.
