Q:I'm interested in Atlas America for non-US citizens traveling to the US. But I have question about how their extendable policy works. When I extend the policy, will the policy deductibles and policy maximum accumulate and carry over to the extended period? Assume I initially purchase 6 months plan with 5,000 deductible and 100,000 maximum and decided to extend the policy for 12 month for the total coverage of 18 months. Before the 6 months expires, I spend 1,000 towards deductible, how much deductible I have to pay in the next 12 months before insurance payment kicks in? What if I paid off 5,000 deductible and insurance paid 20,000 on my behalf before the 6 months expires, what will be my deductible and maximum insurance benefit in the remaining 12 months?

A:
Hello when extending a plan the deductible and policy max will be unaffected. when the plan says "per policy period" it is refering to the intire time you have the plan reguardless of any extensions.

Q:Do you consider hypertension which is under control because of medication as pre-existing? If yes what kind of ailments/incidents are not covered under any policy.

A:
Pre-existing is defined as any illness or injury which existed in the body before the start date of the policy (Weather known or unknown). The benefit is determined based on your attending physician's notes and the policy certificate wording. If you have a stable, pre-existing condition, we can recommend a plan with the Acute Onset of Pre-Existing Condition coverage. Acute onset of Pre-exisitng conditons
