Q:My name is Lauren and I will have a study exchange to the US in August. I am Indonesian but currently studying in Australia. The exchange university I'm going to, University of Central Florida, requires us to buy a health insurance plan from their approved list and it includes Insubuy. 'Study USA Preferred 500' is the approved plan by UCF from Insubuy. I have yet to apply for my J-1 visa and but I hope to get it done before June. And in J-1 visa application, it requires health insurance as part of the requirements. I was wondering what's the start and end date for that plan, how much the total would cost and whether I can purchase it soon. Another thing is I plan to travel after my study exchange for around 3-4 weeks and if my student health insurance doesn't cover the dates I'm traveling, is there a specific insurance that you guys can offer for that?

A:
Please use the Study USA Preferred 500 link to generate a quote. You can enter in the dates you need the coverage and additional information to obtain pricing based on the parameters you enter.

Q:I am interested in buying an insurance as J1. I have 2 questions: 1. Is there any exclusion for activities normal to working in a hospital (I will be a scholar at a hospital) 2. Could I buy insurance for my spouse? He's travelling under B2 visa, not J2. The requirements for my coverage are just the basic requirements for my Visa.

A:
Thank you for providing the requirements. Any plan in the J1 visa section of our website will meet these requirements. One of the more popular plan options available would be the ExchangeGuard. Please use the link below to view the plan details. Immediately after purchase you will receive an email confirmation which will include your confirmation of coverage letter to present to your sponsoring organization or program. Please use the following link to view quotes for the plans available for your husbands visit to the U.S. Out of these options we would recommend the Patriot America Plus plan. Q:I am looking to get a Travel Insurance for my father in law travelling from India. His dates of travel are 05/03/2019 - 06/27/2019. He will be 71 in August. What policy options do we have? we need something that includes cover for Pre-Existing conditions.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. There are two types of plans available for a visitors to the USA, either Fixed or Comprehensive coverage plans. The Fixed coverage plans will pay a fixed amount as per the schedule of benefits, and the Comprehensive plans will pay a percentage of the overall cost once the deductible has been met. We generally recommend the comprehensive coverage plan options. Please use the link provided below to view the plan options available. Visitors Medical Insurance plans are designed to cover new illnesses, injuries or accidents which occur after the effective date of the policy. They will not cover pre-existing conditions, routine doctors' visits, or preventative treatments. Many plans will provide coverage for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. This is a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition that occurs spontaneously, without advance warning, is rapidly progressive, and requires urgent care. You may learn more about this benefit by reviewing the article below. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
