Q:Liaison Majestic - Pre-existing conditions coverage question I am planning to purchase Liasion majestic for my parents who will be visiting USA in August for around 2 months. My father is 70 and my mother is 64 years. I understand that in most cases heart related emergencies are treated as pre exisiting condition. If there is emergency treatment required for pre existing condition, would I get negotiated bill from PPO provider? >From my experience I understand that the hospital original bills are very high and negotiated bills are considerably lower.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing Liaison Majestic. Unfortunately, network negotiated fees are applied towards the eligible and covered expenses. It would not apply to the pre-existing conditions. Please read /atlas-america/acute-onset-pre-existing-conditions-coverage/ for more details. You can purchase Liaison Majestic online at /atlasamerica-insurance/ If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Q:Question about travel insurance from India to the US Hello My in laws will be visiting the US from India (6/17-8/4). We purchased travel insurance from you when they visited two years ago and we were pleased with the buying process and the information you provided. I would appreciate your advice for this trip: Here is their information: Father in law: 77 yrs. old (it appears that only World Med is available for him) Mother in law: 69 yrs. old (she will turn 70 yrs. old after she returns to India) Coverage: Comprehensive, $1,000 deductible and $100,000 max for each policy States they are likely to visit: MD, DC, VA, TX, NY, NJ, PA, NC We are looking for an insurance provider that has a wide network in the areas the in laws will be visiting, pays claims promptly and with minimum of hassle, and is reasonable in price. The quotes for my mother in law have a wide range, from $284 for Patriot to $513 for Visit USA. Last time we got Protection America. I saw in your newsletter that Atlas offers limited coverage from pre existing conditions and it appears for only about $40 more than regular Atlas. That feature would be of interest to us. Thank you for your help.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing health insurance for your parents. I am glad that you had a positive experience last time. 1. Based on the information, you provided below, I would recommend WorldMed for your father and Protection America for your mother. /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ /worldmed-insurance/ In your case, I would not recommend Visit USA (not renewable) or Patriot America (renewable only if purchased minimum 3 months initially). This is quite important just in case you need to renew it expetedly or unexpectedly. 2. Pre-existing conditions coverage in Atlas America: Brochure says>>> Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition: If you are under age 70, you are covered for an Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition. Coverage is available up to $15,000 Maximum for Eligible Medical Expenses and up to $25,000 for Emergency Medical Evacuation. An Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition is a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence.

Q:Liaison International - Claim request question Dear Sir or Madam, I am a client and have a travel insurance policy with your group. I recently had to visit a doctor as I had symptoms of infection while travelling in London. I tried to call your office for assistance in identifying a doctor in London but your office was closed. I also called the emergency number you listed on the policy but the agent could not help me as she said she did not have enough information. As my symptoms felt serious, I left a message with your office and located a doctor in London on my own. At the Princess Grace Hospital, I was diagnosed with an urinary tract infection and was prescribed a course of anti-biotic. Further urine samples were also ordered. The cost for the doctor fee was 100 british pound. Can you advise on how and when I should file for reimbursement of the medical fee? Should I wait until the end of the trip or file for the claim right now during my trip? Thank you for your assistance. My policy number is ****. The group number is *****. The policy is effective from May 21st to June 26th, 2008.

Q:Schengen visa for germany - Patriot International hi. i'd like to purchase an insurance policy in order to apply for a german visa. my tourist visa expires very soon, and i haven't had a chance to "shop around". i came across your site through google. the prices definitely sound right. :) i just wanted to know, can i purchase for just 1 month and submit the weblink generated confirmation when applying for a visa? i ask b/c i haven't had much time to see my health insurance options and i am tight on time. i may renew the PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL policy, but this also gives me time (1 mo.) to browse other options through both public and private insurance companies in germany. additionally, in the web-generated print out that i would take to my local visa registration, is the duration/length of coverage written on it? and if so, would that make a difference on obtaining or being turned down for a visa? i look forward to hearing from you. looking forward to PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL. :) best regards,

A:
Patriot International is only for US citizens and US citizens don't require Schengen Visa. For non-US citizens, you have to consider Patriot America. Patriot America can be renewed only if you buy for minimum 3 months initially. /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ If you would like to buy month by month, you have to buy Protection America, available at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ Once you buy the insurance, you can download the visa letter at /myaccount/ Yes, the insurance duration is written on the visa letter. Please let me know if you have any other questions. thanks for that fast response! i am a US Citizen hoping to obtain a residence permit in germany. one requirement for the application is that i have health insurance..... i was thinking PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL. if i purchased the coverage for 1 month (and the date of coverage noted on the printable confirmation letter), will this prevent me from obtaining a 1 year residence permit? again, i just ask b/c PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL may or may not be the coverage i'd like for my full year of residence in germany. your website makes it quite convenient however, to obtain coverage immediately. i would just like to make sure that the dates written on my application document stating the duration of coverage will not prevent issuance of my visa. :) thank you again. Yes, you can purchase for one month. We don't know about what kind of impact it will have on year your trial to get 1 year visa. You need to ideally purchase the insurance for entire 1 year. i just wanted to know, can i purchase for just 1 month and submit the weblink generated confirmation when applying for a visa? i ask b/c i haven't had much time to see my health insurance options and i am tight on time. i may renew the PATRIOT INTERNATIONAL policy, but this also gives me time (1 mo.) to browse other options through both public and private insurance companies in germany. You can purchase Patriot International at /patriot-international-lite-insurance/ Once you purchase the insurance, you will get an email which will have the link to print the visa letter or the confirmation of coverage. You can also download the same at /myaccount/
