Q:My parents aged 70 and 75 are visiting me for 2 months. They don't have pre-existing conditions. I read your FAQ about co-ordination of benefits. It recommended I contact you guys before buying multiple plans. Can you help me pick the right plans to get 500K of coverage for each of them.

A:
If you are not to worried about pre-existing conditions we can advise to take some plans like the Safe travels USA Cost Saver and Atlas America. As long as the two plans are from different companies you can purchase them . Just note that regardless of how small the claim, you have to present both plans. When it comes to getting five plans we don't advise to go over two due to the extreme level of communication every company has to do with the others, Your claim could take months to be resolved. If you make a seperate quote for the 70 year old we should have a plan that they can take for 500K.

Q:Hi there good morning. I am here in the US on an H1B . My little ones are covered by my employer with an expensive premium. Do you guys have any low-premium plans for my dependent kids? One of them is a US citizen.

A:
With the visa status that you are on and one of the children being U.S. citizens you would need to remain in the ACA compliant plan as you are not eligible for any international visitors plan on our website.

Q:My nephew is US citizen. He studied medicine in India and returning back to USHe is 25 years old. What kind of insurance should I buy for him?ThanksGeetha

A:
As a United States citizen returning to the USA he would need to look into domestic insurance options for coverage as these plans are designed to cover outside of the home country and he is retuning home. You can consider the National General Short Term domestic plan for coverage in the interim period.

Q:Hi Insubuy, I have a question related to existing pre-condition my father has and is traveling to USA. He is diabetic and his sugar levels fluctuate quite often (in range from 50 to 400). He takes insulin injections twice a day to maintain the blood sugar levels. I want to know if a sudden increase in blood sugar levels will be covered in Acute Onset of Pre-Existing Condition ? If not, is it advisable to purchase Pre-Existing condition coverage vs Acute Onset of Pre-Existing condition coverage. Thanks.

A:
Acute onset coverage is for a sudden and unexpected issue, no prior symptoms or warnings, rapidly progressing and requiring immediate treatment within 24 hours. Based on the below information, the fluctuations are expected not unexpected with symptoms present. Our Visitors Protect plan that provides pre-existing benefits would also be for unexpected issues. Coverage for all plans and benefits would be determined at the time if the claim based on the medical reports at the time of the incident. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
