Q:I am looking for coverage for my parents, who are already in US for more than 30 days. Are they covered for Covid-19 ? I am specifically looking for Patriot america Plus insurance.

A:
The Patriot plans will not cover Covid-19. Most plans are now not covering for the virus. We can recommend the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive. That plan only excludes coverage if the insured is traveling to a level 3 warning area. Otherwise it would be treated as any other new illness on the plan. If someone were to become ill with anything, currently including Covid-19, if the doctor determined it manifested after the policy effective date, it could be covered. If It were determined to be manifesting prior to the policy's effective date, it would be deemed pre-existing and not covered. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:I am trying to take insurance for my parents who arrived on 1/29/2020. Its not allowing me it. Is the date of purchase an issue or something else?

A:
The date of arrival should not prevent you from being able to purchase most plans. If you would like assistance, you can contact our office directly at 1-866-INSUBUY (467-8289) and we would be glad to assist in finding out what is preventing you to be able to complete purchasing.

Q:I am a citizen of India and I just finished my PhD (2012-2019) in the US on an F1 Visa. I started my OPT on 23 Jan 2020 and I am looking for insurance for me and my dependent spouse. I looked at some of your plans and I noticed that I may be eligible for StudentSecure plan (Elite/Select). I tried getting a quote on insubuy, but I don't find an option to add my spouse to this plan. Can you kindly instruct me how to proceed?

A:
StudentSecureplan is available only for Student. You can't enroll spouse. Please find OPT insurance plans here. Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please review policy wording also. You can purchase either ExchangeGuard or Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan from the link above. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Q: I am going to do an term abroad at UCF from August 2020 to December 2020. As I need health insurance during that time I considered buying one of your insurance plans. However, I am really not sure if I can spend the semester in Florida as it is possible that the term abroad will be cancelled due to Covid 19. Although I have to buy the insurance now (because of course registrations and visa requirements) I would not need it if I can not go to Florida in August. So my question is: What if I am not allowed to do my term abroad in the USA and therefore do not need the insurance? Can I cancel it or how does that work?

A:
Most of the plans will allow for cancellation and provide a full refund if cancelled before the effective date of the policy. It would depend on the plan, however, under each plan you will see a link under the view more selection for Refundable. For the plans specific guidelines regarding cancellation, that information can be found there. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
