Q:Hi, I am an F1 student who lives in USA am I eligible for this insurance?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. As an F1 student you are eligible to purchase an insurance plan from the Student Insurance section of Insubuy.com. We would be more than happy to send you a quote, and recommend a plan but first we will need to know more information. Can you please confirm if the University you are attending has any requirements for the insurance such as the policy maximum, or deductible? Can you also provide your age, the state in which you will be residing, and your arrival date in the U.S.? You may also obtain a plan recommendation over the phone by contacting our office at (866) INSUBUY. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:Do you have Insubuy office in India where I can contact and Indian representative? I am purchasing your policy online and am unable to understand the email & quote which I received from your end. Our Indian medical health insurance is different from yours and I wish to understand the medical claim cashless benefit.

A:
Below I have provided links to several FAQ's which you may find helpful in regards to using the insurance in the U.S. Cashless Visitors Insurance Scheduling a Doctor's Appointment in the US Visitors Insurance - Getting Healthcare FAQ There are several plans such as Atlas America, Patriot America Plus, and the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan. Each plan will have a PPO network of doctors or hospitals in the U.S. In-network providers will generally bill the insurance directly, as this is a benefit of going to an in-network provider. Please keep mind that direct billing is always determined solely by the individual provider.

Q:Will it cost less if I purchase for my spouse and myself together or separate?

A:
The premium cost for the plans mentioned will be the same whether you were to purchase together or individually. The premium is based on the age of the insured, the policy maximum and deductible selected. These items together will give you a daily rate. The daily rate is then multiplied by the number of days you are purchasing for to determine your premium cost.

Q:I wanted to get some clarification on some things before buying a plan. To be specific, I'm interested in this Atlas America plan. First of all, is it OK for dual US-EU citizens to buy this plan? My daughter is a dual citizen of the US and Estonia, and she spends most of her time in Europe. But she still needs insurance in the USA because we plan to split our time between Europe and USA in the future. My husband, who is also Estonian citizen, wants to buy the plan and put our daughter as the dependent. I myself wouldn't be part of the plan, just the 2 of them, because I'm not eligible for it. Also this plan include REGULAR routine doctor visits, not just emergency care?

A:
Your daughter would not be eligible for this plan since the plan does not cover a US citizen in the US. If your husband's only citizenship is Estonia, he will be able to purchase the plan for himself, but he would be unable to include your daughter in the coverage. Plans cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date of coverage. Plans will cover doctor's visit for an illness but not a routine checkup.

Q:I am looking for a visitor insurance policy for myself and my partner and I am wondering how you define spouse. We are a same-sex couple and not legally married. Could I still put my partner as my spouse on the Atlas America application?

A:
We have confirmed with the underwriting department that the definition of common law is ok for a shared application on the Atlas series plans.

Q:I am looking for Travel Medical Insurance for my Father-in-Law who is 79 years of age. He will be traveling to the States this summer. He had a valve replacement done two years ago. That would be a pre-existing condition, right? Does this pre-existing condition only relate to the valve or to the whole heart? Could you recommend any Plans that he could utilize?

A:
The plan we would recommend for your father-in-law is the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive. Pre-existing conditions are determined at the time of a claim based on the medical records so while the valve replacement would be pre-existing if something else happens the claims department would review the medical records to determine coverage.
