Q:Hi, I'm visiting from the UK at the end of the month I am currently on the waiting list for an undiagnosed medical condition. Can I still get cover? I also have pre-existing conditions can I get cover for these?

A:
Plans are designed to cover the new accidents and illnesses that did not exist on the effective date of the policy. There would not be any coverage for routine visits, preventative care or related medications. There are plans that provided coverage for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. You can take a look at the plans in the Travel Outside the USA section of the website for plans that will offer this coverage.

If you are needing a plan that can include some pre-existing condition coverage as long as you are fit to travel and not coming to the U.S. for medical treatment, we do have 1 plan that can provide some pre-existing conditions benefits. Please see the plan link to review the coverages: /visitors-protect-insurance/ The plan must be purchased before departure from home country, it is not extendable, and the pre-existing condition benefit has it's own $1500 deductible. It also has a 90 day minimum purchase. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I have question related to my mothers First name and last name. Per my parents Indian passport her given name is available but there is no surname. On the US visa, we enter the name in surname/last name and her first name is added as FNU

A:
If you are asking how you would enter the name on an insurance application, you would enter it as it is on the passport as this would be the ID used when traveling. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
