Q:I am interested in your insurance product for Medicare bridge insurance. Please answer a few questions: 1. Can the policy be renewed after one year for 3 additional months in state of Wisconsin? I understand states have different rules per your website. I need a policy for 15 months. 2. I understand once deductible is met, 100% is covered except pre-existing conditions. I have a pre-existing condition. So if something really went wrong (doubtful with this condition) and I needed hospitalization it would not be covered? I take meds and get checked periodically. 3. Policy covers both inpatient and outpatient correct? If deductible is met then annual physical exam with labs or urgent care visit would be covered? 4. How do I know what the savings are for negotiated fees or discounts if one stays within network? 5. I need insurance, effective 7/1/20. When should application be made and is done on paper app (on website) or is there electronic version?

A:
Please see the answers below: 1.After your 364 days of coverage you can repurchase this plan up to 5 years provided you are eligible for the plan. 2.That is correct. The plan will not cover anything related to the pre-existing conditions. 3.The Bridge plan will not cover the cost of preventative care. 4.The network negotiated rates are not given out they are already established between the insurance company and the providers. 5. Unfortunately, there is not an electronic application as the plan is underwritten.

Q:My parents visited the US from August 2019 till now. They have to stay in the US a bit longer because their flights were cancelled due to the virus outbreak. Their insurance started from August 2019 and have been extended several times, since they don't know when they leave. I am wondering if their insurance will cover any Covid19 expenses. And if they keep extending their insurance, will the extended insurance cover Covid19 expenses.

A:
Unfortunately, the Atlas America plan will not cover the cost of COVID-19. If they are visitors, there is no specific exclusion for Coronavirus on the Safe Travels Series plans . It will be covered as any other sickness. It should not be related to any pre-existing or preventive care.

Q:I was looking at the Trawick safe travel USA program but I am not sure that I am eligible. I am a dual French/American citizen living in France for the past 38 years. I typically spend 1 -2 months in the US during the summer. I see reference "home country limitations" but am unclear what home country means? I would certainly consider France my home country as I have lived here for the longest time. But I was born in the US. Could you explain what this means and if it impacts what I can purchase. A couple of questions, is there any policy with a higher policy max, these policies, if I understand correctly are limited to $100K. Also, what is the position for these policies related to coronavirus treatment. Finally, where can I find the details of the in-network hospitals

A:
US Citizens are not allowed to purchase Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan for the coverage in US. You can purchase Diplomat America Or Patriot America plan as long as your home country is Outside US. Please review the plan details, compare the plans, go through certificate wording. In Diplomat America plan there is no specific exclusion for Coronavirus. It will be covered as any other sickness as long it's not pre-existing conditions or preventive care. Patriot America plan has United Health Care ppo while Diplomat America plan there is no network. Next to each plan you will see all the details and you can also compare them side by side.

Q:Hi, please could you assist with the questions I have below in regards of COVID-19. My mum arrived to United States in December 2019 and planed to return to China in May 2020. Just realized that her travel insurance does not cover medical expenses during her stay in USA. Is it still possible to purchase health insurance for her from April to May? Given current COVID-19 situation, does the level 3 global travel warning issued by CDC on March 27 includes US soil ? Thus, does my mum meets the COVID-19 insurance coverage requirement as she hasn't travelled outside the US since December ?
