Q:We have submitted the paperwork for my mom's green card and now we are waiting for the interview. She is 65 years old. I was wondering if the insurance you offer is the right one for her and what's the price range. She is 65 years old and she lives in Washington state. She arrived to US in July 2018.

A:
There is a plan called Safe Travels USA Comprehensive that will cover her until you receive approval for your Green Card. This plan will be renewable in the event you need to extend for an additional period. Safe Travels USA Comprehensive There is also a plan called International Major Medical will also cover her while awaiting you her Green Card approval. This plan is however not renewable or refundable in the event of needing to extend the plan or cancel. If you have any additional questions about either of these plan options please feel free to call our office.

Q:I am an international student on a J-1 visa coming to the University of Virginia this fall and will be staying for a month after my studies to travel. The university has very particular requirements for their health insurance hard waiver so i am wondering if any of your plans satisfy them: 1. The plan is provided by a company licensed to do business in the United States with (a) a U.S. claim payment office, (b) a U.S. telephone number and (c) benefits provided in accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The following programs do NOT qualify as comparable coverage: 2. The plan provides both in-patient care and outpatient care (including visits for behavioral health care) within a 75-mile radius of the Charlottesville area. Coverage for emergency-only care does NOT satisfy this requirement. 3. The plan provides unlimited coverage for major medical benefits per sickness or injury. Insurance that fails to cover or limits coverage for pre-existing conditions is NOT acceptable. 4. The plan must cover inpatient and outpatient treatment for substance abuse (alcohol and other drugs) and treatment related to suicide and attempted suicide. 5. The coverage will remain in effect for all semesters in which the student is enrolled for the 2018-2019 academic year. 6. The plan provides a minimum of $10,000 in coverage for repatriation/medical evacuation to my home country or return of mortal remains.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, there are no plans available based on the requirements as you require a plan which is Affordable Care Act compliant. We would recommend purchasing through your University. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
