Q:Hi Which plan offer the following Direct bill to hospital/Doctor Accept onset of pre-existing condition if any?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Any plan can be directly billed by a doctor or hospital but that is up to the doctor or hospital if they do that. The plans that have a PPO network will have a better chance of direct billing. Most plans also include the Acute Onset benefit but it depends on the plan you choose and the age of the insured. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am the Student Insurance Advocate for the University of Montana. One of my primary duties is to assist students with researching plans so the students can obtain the coverage they need while attending classes here. With that said, the University of Montana is located in hub of 5 Valleys. It has many recreational activities available. One that is very popular here is skiing. I am assisting one of our potential students with obtaining a health care plan that not only meets the J-1 Visa requirements, but also has coverage for injury due to skiing. I'm looking at one of your plans. It meets the required criteria for medical coverage for our J-1 students. However, I need clarification on what is meant by your "Intercollegiate, Interscholastic, Intramural or Club Sports" coverage. If the student I'm assisting signs up for this plan, will they be covered if they happen to be doing an outdoor activity with their friends, for example skiing, and are injured? Or does it mean coverage is only available if the illness/injury occurs during a school related activity? Does that include skiing? Could you tell me exactly what this means, please. The student I'm assisting needs to purchase a plan as soon as possible. Whether or not they purchase a plan from your company is determined by the availability of the coverage they need. Any assistance you can give me is greatly appreciated.

A:
The Study USA plan will cover recreational activities including snow skiing as long as they stay in marked in-bound territories. The item listed below is for school sports and not recreational sports.

Q:What kind of insurance do I need while my immigration process is pending? I need to have an insurance card when taking medical exam which is required to adjust my status. Please advise via email provided above. I am aware of the fact that insurance wont pay for the exam. As i need to have the insurance then i was wondering which insurance plans if good enough to qualify for the exam so they accept my ID. And how much is costs.

A:
Because you have filed for adjustment of status, the plans in our new immigrant section like the International Major Medical plan are the types of plans available to you. Once you receive your green card and/or your social security card making you eligible for domestic insurance, you would need to enroll under that coverage. Once you become eligible for domestic insurance, it will make you not eligible for these plans and they will no longer cover you. Also keep in mind that the plans in the New Immigrant section cover for new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. There are no plans on the market for visitors that cover pre-existing conditions. We are not aware of having to have insurance to qualify for an exam. Whatever the provider charges for the exam is what you would pay to the provider directly. We are not able to advise on what a provider will charge, so you would have to contact them directly about cost. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I was just online looking for a quote, and wanting the Cancel For Any Reason benefit. However I've been told that clause is not available for NY. Why can you offer it and no one else? Just curious.

A:
The cancel for any reason benefit is not available in NY. The reason you were able to run the quote is because the plan itself is available in NY but that optional benefit is.

Q:male italian citizen, 60 yrs age, good health, will move to the u.s. florida soon, spouse is american citizen, need health coverage in the u.s. , have seen your Patriot Platinum America coverage, is this the most suitable for me? can it be purchased up to 36 months? can it be renewed? what if I get a green card VISA? thanks !

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, if you are adjusting your status then that Patriot plans are not available since those plans will cover you outside of your home country. Since you will be getting your Green card then your home country is the US effectively excluding the US from coverage. Instead, you are eligible for International Major Medical This plan is a short term plan so wouldn't be available for 36 months. There may be other options but we would need to know more about your plans and status when you arrive. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am having trouble selecting the right plan for my immigrant parents. They have Green cards and are under 70. My father arrived in the country less than 3 months ago, and has preexisting conditions, so he needs a comprehensive plan that covers acute onset. He does have an address in home country, but he has moved to the US with the intention to stay. My mother arrived more than 2 years ago and has no health issues. Please help us find the best plan. Thanks!

A:
Unfortunately, there are no short term plans for a green card holder that include the Acute Onset benefit or that will cover pre-existing conditions.
