Q:I came to the US late 2015 on an F1 visa and then due to the change of circumstances, I applied for asylum seeker status. Currently, I am awaiting my interview and a have a legal status to work and live the States. I just started my graduate degree in a University in GA and they require me to have insurance coverage for repatriation and evacuation purposes. I have an effective coverage that covers everything except these repatriation and evacuation. That said, please advise if you may provide coverage for individuals like me. Thank you.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. If you are needing a plan to meet the evacuation and repatriation requirement for the F1 visa you may purchase the Atlas MedEvac plan. If you have additional questions please let us know.

Q:Hi, I might have to visit a dermatologist in the US to run some tests for diagnosis for a pre-existing condition. Would there be any insurance for this situation -an insurance that covers pre-existing conditions? Thank you

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. All plans on the market are designed to cover the new illnesses and injuries that manifest in the body after the effective date of the policy. They will exclude coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. There is the acute onset benefit available in most visitor insurance plans that will allow coverage for something related to a pre-existing condition if it were to meet the definition of the benefit. You may find more information regarding the benefit here. In any case, the situation you are describing would not be covered under the insurance plans available on the market. Should you have additional questions we would recommend you reach out to us directly at our office. Our phone number is (866) 467-8289.
