Q:Brige plan questions Hi, I am looking at the bridge plan, if my parents decide to immigrate to the US as permanent residents. 1) Since their age is 73, I understand the $100k max limit applies. Is that per injury?, lifetime maximum? yearly maximum ? 2) there is left table which says per cause; and the right table says "all cause" what is the difference? 3) Can i buy any other supplemental insurance to supplement this?

A:
1. Lifetime policy maximum. 2. "per cause" deductible means that you have to pay the specified deductible once per every injury/illness. "all cause" deductible means it is annual deductible. You have to pay that only once no matter how many times you use the insurance in one year. I recommend this. 3. No. You can buy the bridge plan at /new-immigrants-health-insurance/ Please let me know if you have any other questions Thanks for the quick response. I understand this plan does not cover preexisting conditions. How is this evaluated ? 1) Qtn: Is "pre exisiting condition" narrowly defined or broadly defined 2) e.g. my father has diabetes. if he develops glaucoma or high blood pressure (which he doesnt have) as a result of diabetes If Narrowly defined: it should cover if broadly defined: since this is a consequence of diabetes at some level, it cant be covered 1. Broadly defined. It is determined by the insurance company's claim department when claim occurs. 2. Not covered. If anything occurs because of pre-existing condition, that is also pre-existing condition. Thanks, it seems to be bad idea to bring senior parents here! Exactly. Interesting. 1. Are the travel insurances better (on a visitor visa)? 2. or as bad or worse. (if they visit for 1 or 2 months.) Or are we just counting on no mishaps (as it is a short time span) ? They work the same way. However, if they are here for a short period, the risk is lower. That's it. Hello, Can the parents be covered under my own coverage fro mmy employer? that way to my understadning even the pre-existing conditions are covered. let me know if thats not the case?? Tarrak No, you can't do that. Read /greencard-holders-medical-insurance/

Q:Medical insurance for Canadian citizen living in Florida I have read your insurance forum in immhelp.com and found it very helpful in general. I have a friend who is a Canadian citizen living in Florida for more than a year now. Officially he is out of status with the US immigration since Canadian visiting the US should not stay more than 6 months. Anyway, he is thinking of purchasing a temporary medical insurance (1-2 years max) to cover his stay in Florida. Is he eligible to purchase any of the insurance listed in your website? From you have described, it seems Protections America is a good plan. Is he eligible? If not, which one would you recommend for a person in his situation? Thank you! Sincerely,

A:
He is not eligible for Protection America. He can buy Inbound Immigrant at /international-major-medical-insurance/

Q:Patriot GoTravel America Insurance Eligibility Hi I am a UK citizen/resident and will be moving to Michigan on 4 June as a greencard holder. My wife is a US citizen but has resided in the UK for the last 7 years. I have 2 infants (aged 0 and 2) who are US citizens but have resided in UK since birth. I presume I am eligible for coverage (Patroit GoTravel America) along with my children? Can my coverage also include my wife even though she is a US citizen and has previously been a US resident? From my current knowledge, I believe it is difficult for her to get regular coverage until she has resided back in the US for at least six months. Many thanks for your help

A:
You can buy Patriot GoTravel America but your wife or children can't. Your wife and children can purchase Amigo medical insurance. Alternatively, all of you can purchase Amigo. Regarding eligibility, please look at the 'ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS' section. It reads 'Patriot GoTravel America is travel insurance for non-U.S. citizens traveling outside their home country'. Regarding the eligibility of Amigo plan, all of you are eligible because the eligibility requirement is 'any one legally present in the U.S.'. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
