Q:Once I take exchange guard insurance can I change/cancel my insurance any time? If so what is process.

A:
You would want to review the cancellation rules for the ExchangeGuard plan. With regard to changes to the policy, if there are misspellings on the application, you may change that at any time. Other things such as deductible, policy maximum, etc. cannot be changed after the policy has gone into effect. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance you may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:Hello, Once we get a visitor's insurance, can we change the insurance start date?

Most plans will allow coverage date changes before the start date of the policy. If the policy is already active the start date cannot be changed. Please let us know if you have additional questions.

Q:Hi, I am 67 years old and planning a trip from Ontario to Florida - 3 weeks starting Jan 7 2022. I had a angioplasty (Stent put in) 17 years ago (2006). Since then I have had no follow up issues - no issues related to my heart - or any other issues. Just want to confirm i can get medicakl insurance that will cover any emergency including acute onset of pre existing condition. Also want to make sure COVID emergency care is included - when I filled form (for a quote) in Online it mentions COVID excluded (Quote said Beacon Insurance. Thank you

A:
An Acute onset is a sudden and unexpected emergency that comes on without symptoms or warning and requires immediate care within 24 hours and it's rapidly progressing. If whatever emergency that happens would be an expected issue because of the pre-existing condition, it would not be covered. If it would not be expected, it could be covered. Until something happens and the claims department is able to obtain the medical report, there is not a way to know if there would be coverage as they cannot until then know what happened and what caused the issue. You want to think about Acute onset as a possibility of coverage. If it's states Covid-19 Excluded, which Beacon does, it provides no benefits for Covid-19. The plans that provide benefits for Covid-19 will state Included and will cover any medically necessary testing and treatment if contracted after the effective date of the policy. We would recommend a plan that provides Acute onset benefits equal to your chosen policy maximum and Covid-19 coverage as well. Q:We had to do Covid test in Buffalo, while symptomatic and pay for the PCR test. The pharmacy did not accept the insurance information and hence would like to claim the amount. Is the Rapid PCR test covered in the insurance. The test came back positive.

A:
The only testing that is covered under your plan would be a positive test result due to illness and the insured went to a Dr. who recommended the test. If someone did not feel well and you went to a pharmacy to schedule a test without the insured being seen by a Dr., that test would not be covered. If the insured was seen by a Dr. who recommended the test, you can file for reimbursement through My Account on the Insubuy website using your plans claims forms. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
