Q:I want some information pertaining short term (3 months)health plans. I am j2 dependent of a scholar at Penn with following link providing minimum coverage https://global.upenn.edu/isss/healt My spouse is already covered by Aetna. Please suggests monthly Premium' for me (37) and 2kids(5 &8yr)and copay details. Also provide a comparison of your offer with Aetna (HMO).

A:
The requirements we found on their website do not say what is required for the J2 so you will need to check with your sponsor to confirm. The plans offered outside of a university plan are not domestic plans so they do not compare with Aetna. If there are no additional requirements then you can choose any plan in the J1/J2 section of our website. Plans will cover any new illness or injury that occur after the effective date. They do not cover any pre-existing conditions, preventative care or routine maintenance. If you would like the quotes emailed to you then we will need the requested dates for coverage and the arrival date in the US.

Q:I am an exchange student currently in Canda and I plan to travel to the US as a visitor. Am I eligible to purchase the "Safe Travels USA - Cost Saver" insurance plan if I have already left my home country by this time?

A:
We would be glad to advise. Yes, you can purchase the Safe Travels USA Cost Saver plan, if traveling to the U.S. on a visitor visa. When it asks for your departure date from home country, you would put the date you are departing from Canada, since that is where you are currently residing as a student. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:My parents are coming back to US from India on May 8th 2019, they had your insurance, can you again set me up with the monthly plan they already had? Btw, I just bought insurance for my MIL also from your company, she had insurance from India but I bought it for the period she didn't have. Being a repeat customer, it will be great if you can get me a good rate for my mom and dad.

A:
We would be glad to assist. We can send you a quote for the plan you previously had for your parents. We would need to confirm they are coming on B1/B2 visitor visas, and need to know the exact coverage dates you are wanting. Once we send the quote, the deductible will default to $250.00. You can use the drop down within the quote to change the deductible if you would like. The previous policy you purchased, you had chosen a $500 deductible. Once we receive this information, we will email the quote to you. You can then either purchase it online through the link, or contact our office directly, and we can assist over the phone. As far as the rates, the plan pricing is regulated by law. The pricing is a daily rate based on the age of the insured, the policy maximum, and the deductible chosen. Therefore, there are not discounts or reduced premiums that can be offered. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
