Q:Patriot America insurance questions My parents will be visiting the US and Canada from India for a period of 3.5 months, and I am planning to purchase Patriot America insurance from your website. I have a couple of questions: 1. Is Patriot America insurance valid in Canada? If not, is there a separate product I would need to purchase for Canada? 2. For emergency dental issues, do I need to purchase an additional dental plan like Careington? Is this valid in Canada?

A:
1. Patriot America is valid anywhere outside home country. Therefore, anywhere outside India in your case. 2. Yes, you should buy CAREINGTON separately. It is valid only in the US. Q:coverage of medication Does the Protection America plan or other plans on this website cover the medication cost incurred during the hospitalization of a the visitor (lets say from India to USA) and while the visitor is recuperating after being discharged from the hospital, or the visitor has to pay from his or her pocket or buy some pharmacy discount plan? Please comment!

A:
Yes, all visitors medical insurance plans (including Protection America) cover the cost of the prescription medicines as long as it is for covered treatment. In comprehensive coverage plans, prescription drugs are covered just like any other medical expense. In Patriot America and Protection America, additionally, there is a prescription drugs discount card. When you go to participating pharmacies, for covered drugs, they charge you less than what they normally charge. In fixed coverage plans, prescription drugs are covered up to a set maximum amount, depending upon the plan and the policy maximum, as described in the brochure.

Q:Visitor's Insurance question My mother has the Visitor's Insurance by IMG. She fell down from the stairs and there's a claim of about 155$ from the hospital office. The IMG has sent a General Accident questionnaire form to be filled in which it is asking for property insurance company name and policy information. My question is if I fill up this form, would IMG send this claim to the property insurance company or would they pay this based on this form? Can you please advise. Thank you.

A:
In general, all visitors insurance plans are considered secondary. Therefore, if any other company is liable for the expeneses, the claim must be filed there first and later with visitors insurance. Without knowing all the details of the circumstances, it is difficult for me to comment exactly. I suggest you contact the IMG claims department (phone number given on the insurance card) and ask this question.
