Q:I want to buy a school health policy for my nephew, attending University of South Florida (Tampa, FL) he is an International Student, 21, from Mexico, on an F1 visa. He's lived in the USA under this F1 visa for ten years. Here are USF's (University of South Florda Tampa) requirements for health insurance for International Students. I want to buy the cheapest policy which USF finds acceptable. Although their rules state a $50 deductible, their office tells me that they accept policies not exceeding $500 deductible; this should lower the cost.

A:
$500 deductible requirements is for J visa. For F visa $50 deductible is the requirements. You can purchase Study USA Preferred 500 plan. Which meets USF school requirements. He can purchase this plan as long as he is on F visa. If you send his insurance eff. date and expiration date will be glad to send you quote by e-mail. We can sign the school waiver form also.

A policy that provides only emergency or urgent medical care in this area does not meet this requirements. 3 Does this plan satisfy the minimum requirements set for J1 and J2 Visa Holders? If the "Patriot Platinum America" plan does not meet any one of the above 3 conditions, can you kindly suggest any plan of yours that meet all the above 3 conditions?

A:
The Patriot Platinum America plan does not meet these requirements listed. Your university requires a plan that cover pre-existing conditions without a waiting period which no plan that we can offer you will do. It is recommended that you purchase insurance from your University.
