Q:For SafeTravel International Insurance, it is stated that it cover Covid-19. I am only looking at Co-Insurance 100/0. I have the following clarifications 1 - Any key (common) exclusion to Covid-19 that I need to be aware of. 2 - Also to confirm that in unfortunate event of hospitalization required, I just need to provide my insurance certificate and there shall be no other payment from me less deductible. 2 - If there are such exclusion, please highlight. 3 - Will there be any restriction to hospital as in situation such as this, one do not have much choice but to go to the 'nearest' and very likely decision will be by them as I will not be familiar with the medical locality available at destination country. 4 - I will sure have an overlapping coverage as I have annual travel insurance that excludes Covid-19. In event of medical treatment not due to Covid-19, how shall the claim sequence be like? 5 - Country that I am likely to go are Hong Kong, Vietnam or Thailand. Any difference in Tavel Medical Insurance for these 3 countries. 6. What is the difference between SafeTravel International and Safe Travels International Cost Saver?

A:
To better assist you with your inquiries we would recommend that you call our office and speak with a licensed age for additional clarity to your questions. The Safe Travel International Cost Saver plan will cover the new accidents and illnesses that occur after the effective date of the policy. COVID-19 coverage will cover what is medically necessary related this could include cost for testing as well as treatment, the illnesses would have to manifest after the effective date of the policy and testing be request by a medical professional. Outside of the United States there is no concept of a PPO network so you are free to visit any provider you chose to seek treatment.

Q:I'm looking to purchase a 2 month comprehensive medical policy which can cover for Covid 19 treatment for a healthy 55 year old family member who will be visiting from outside the US. I'm debating between the Atlas America versus Patriot America Plus plans ($1 million policy with a $2,500 deductible). Besides the extra $100 cost for the Atlas America, the other downside seems to be that you have to get medical care within 24 hours for the acute onset of a pre-existing condition. The only upside for the Atlas America plan seems to be that it covers 100% after the deductible even for out-of network. Is there any other benefit for the Atlas American plan such as fewer claim denials, etc? Thank you!

A:
Please note that for acute onset of pre-existing conditions coverage, you need to take the treatment within the next 24 hours and that is true in all the plans including in Patriot America Plus as well as in Atlas America. You can compare Atlas America vs Patriot America Plus side-by-side. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call us during our regular business hours and we would be glad to help you.
