If those are the only requirements then any plan in the International Student Insurance section of our website will meet them as long as you choose a $500,000 policy max. We would recommend the ExchangeGuard plan.

First, I want to buy the ExchangeGuard-Choice plan and I want to choose: Deductible: 100, Policy max: 100000, and Co-insurance: 100/0). In order to satisfy the insurance requirement f the Federal Regulation (22 CFR 62.14), does this insurance plan meet the following requirement? 1. Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness 2. Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000 3. Expenses associated with the medical evacuation of the exchange visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $50,000 4. A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness. 5. Covers pre-existing conditions after a reasonable waiting period (6 months or less) 6. This insurance policy is underwritten by an insurance corporation with an A.M. (ISI) rating of "A-I" or above, a Standard and Poor's Claims Paying Ability rating of "A-" or above, or aWeiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above. Another question is that if I buy this insurance plan, my school want your company to complete a insurance certification form (they will give me), so where should I email to and have someone help me to do this?

Q:Hello. I am a Colombian citizen and a US resident and I'm currently studying medicine abroad. On April I will be returning to the states to do a two month clinical rotation and then on July I will be returning to the states to live. I was wondering what my best option for health insurance is and what the cost differences are if I pay for the insurance as a US resident versus a visitor. Thank you.

A:
If you have a residence outside of the US and are only here for a short time then you can purchase one of the Patriot Plans from the Greencard holders visiting US /green-card-holders-visiting-usa-insurance/ section of our website. Once you have returned to stay then we would recommend either National General in the short term domestic section or International Major Medical plan from the New immigrant section. These are temporary plans that you can purchase until you are eligible to purchase a domestic.
