Q:I've arranged insurance several years ago and want to arrange again, could you please assist?

A:
We would be glad to assist. It appears based on your last plan you were most likely visiting the U.S. on a B2 visitor visa. If that is correct, you can run a quote through the link below, entering in your specific information, and it will show you all the plans you are eligible for. /visitors-insurance/ You can easily repurchase through MyAccount. If you are not traveling on a visitor visa or have any questions about the plans available, please let us know.

Q:If I book a ticket for my son to leave USA once he comes in June and then come back to USA when his school starts, would his current trip be considered as visitor and he is eligible for visitors insurance ? So basically I'm breaking his trip into two trips. An initial trip as visitor and then a second trip where his intention is to stay and he can look for domestic options. Since my wife is visiting for 3 months and intends to return she is eligible for Patriot America visitor and can my son become a dependent as he is a minor (< 18)? Or they have to take separate insurance -- visitor for my wife and Short term (STM) for my son. Another challenge seems to be that given the age of my son most STM don't accept him as primary holder.

A:
Your wife if visiting can go with the Patriot America Plus plan. Your son however, will be staying once returning and therefore he cannot be added to the Patriot Plan. He would need to be enrolled into domestic insurance. If available in your state' he could enroll him into our Short Term Medical plan until his domestic insurance begins. Because he will be living here, you will need to get him enrolled into the domestic insurance once he arrives, and then the STM plan can cover him until his effective date with the domestic plan. If our STM plan is not available in your state, or will not cover him due to his age, you can contact your State's State Department of Insurance to see what temporary plans may be available to him. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I am a greencard holder and my 9 month old daughter is US citizen. How should I purchase visitor insurance for our family as we hold different citizenship?

A:
You would need to purchase separate plans. You and your child would only be eligible for plans in the visiting with green card plans if visiting the US and not staying here. If you provide previous policy number will be glad to assist you.

Q:Hi, I am looking for a comprehensive plan that has coverage and good network in Southern California. The visitors are aged above 70 and I am looking for something that has the option for preexisting condition coverage. can someone kindly help me guide through the pans and a comparison of different plans?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. You can find all of the available plans in the visitor to USA section of our website /visitors-insurance/. The plan we would recommend is the Atlas America plan since that plan includes coverage for the Acute Onset of a pre-existing condition. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I currently have First Health international student health insurance till 26th June 2019. I will be joining classes soon at USC and would like to know if this plan or any other plan will meet the university student health insurance waiver requirements. Will you please fill the attached excel file. It contains all the university requirements to waive the USC Student Health Insurance Plan.

A:
Unfortunately, the plan you have is not going to meet the new requirements you have attached. To be able to meet their requirements you will have to purchase the plan they offer since it says the plan has to be ACA compliant and the only way to have that type of plan is through the university.

Q:I am looking for travel health insurance for my niece (11 yrs old) and nephew (7 yrs old) that would cover USA and Canada and it would include coverage for water sports (all just for fun) and swimming and paddle boarding and hiking (not anything extreme, just on easy trails). They are from Slovakia and they will be visiting me in the state of Washington for 44 days. They will travel from 6/26 to 8/8. I would like the limit to be $1mil. I would just buy it online, but it is not clear to me if the water activities are covered.

A:
We would recommend the Atlas America plan, as it will cover them anywhere in the world outside of their home country including during travel, and it includes Hazardous sports coverage. The specific items, like swimming, paddle boarding, the beginner hiking would be covered. I have attached the certificate wording link for the plan below, which will list the things (on page 22) that would not be covered. This should give you a good idea of what could be. You can purchase Atlas America If you have any additional questions, or need any further assistance, please let us know.
