Q:I want to buy the patriot exchange for my wife and two children for 1 month (184.4 $) but when proceeding with the application i can't proceed without adding me so the total become 259.9 $ also i am insured through my university I just need a medical insurance for J2 dependent only.

A:
We can certainly assist over the phone with enrollment, but we can also advise on the current issue you are having if you would like to process the application yourself online. In the Patriot Exchange application, you would never enter any of your information. Your spouse will be the primary insured and then your 2 children the dependents. So for example, you not going to put your information in as the primary and then put your spouse's information under spouse. Again, she will be the primary insured and no spouse's information would be entered at all. Then the policy should at one point in the application ask if the J1 has coverage through a sponsoring organization/ university etc. As long as that is answered as yes, then you can proceed forward with the application. Let us know If you have any additional questions.

They have told me to buy their policy or get into a wavier system of Academic Health Plans before i register to my classes. The wavier requirements is that student should be having an insurance that meet the requirements for Health Care Coverage. Do you have any policy that meet requirements of Health care coverage? They have also said me "Please note: Non-compliant Plans - Health plans created expressly for the purpose of providing coverage to international students and/or non-immigrant visa holders do not meet the requirements for Health Care Coverage."

Q:International Student Insurance Sports Hi there I am getting ready to start my second year in university as an international and am looking for insurance which needs to include the following: Repatriation of remains in the amount of at least $25,000 Medical Evacuation to one’s home country in the amount of at least $50,000 Accident and Sickness coverage of at least $250,000 per policy year A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness Would you be able to provide me with a letter stating that you guys cover this so that i can send it on to them and then complete the payment? Your help is much appreciated.

A:
Once you have purchased the plan you will be provided with a letter that includes that information. What insurance did you have for your first year? What is your visa status? Is there a particular plan that you were planning to purchase? You can also contact our office for additional assistance. That's great. I will purchase a plan tonight, I don't have one plan in particular right now that I will purchase but I have been given multiple things that it has to cover by my university as I will be playing collegiate sports. HCC medical Insurance was my insurance for my first year. I currently have an F-1 Visa. Is there many collegiate international athletes that you cover? would you have any recommendations? Thank you for the quick response Did your previous plan meet your universities requirements? For us to be able to recommend a plan we would need to see the requirements or know what needs to be met. We have many plans in the Student section of our website: /international-student-medical-insurance/ Yes my previous plan at HCC Insurance covered my universities requirements but this year i am transferring so I need a new company. It only the requirements that I have sent to you that we are told is needed : Repatriation of remains in the amount of at least $25,000 Medical Evacuation to one’s home country in the amount of at least $50,000 Accident and Sickness coverage of at least $250,000 per policy year A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness. Other than that we I have to be covered to play collegiate sports. You guys definitely send a letter/email confirming that these requirements will be met? I will take a look at the link you provided. Hello, We are more than happy to have any forms needed signed by the compliance department.
