Q:We're a family of four (our kids are 2,5 ys and 1,5 months) and I'm looking for a medical health cover and insurance during our 3 months long stay in NYC starting 8th Sept 2016. We are non-US citizens (from Budapest, Hungary). It's important that we'd like to get my daughter vaccinated and bring her to the necessary well-baby visits while we're there. Please advise which plan would be suitable for us.

A:
Unfortunately, there is no short term plan which covers immunization for an international visitor. If you need, you will be responsible for all the expense related to that visit. Short term plan covers any new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. It does not cover any pre-existing or preventive care. However, some plan provides coverage for an acute onset of pre-ex. Please find more information at Acute Onset of Pre-existing Conditions section. You can purchase Atlas America plan. Which is a family friendly plan. It means if one parent is insured child under 9yrs will get insurance at no cost. Please contact us if you need further assistance.

Q:I have plans to buy visitor insurance coverage for my parents who visited USA last month. Please let me know if i find an insurance quote online and select VISITOR SECURE , and buy one . How do i know the list of network hospitals and how does the claim process go.

The VisitorSecure plan does not participate in a PPO network so you are free to go to any provider that you select. It is up to the provider whether or not they want to bill directly as there is no PPO network. Please feel free to contact our office if you would have any further questions.

Q:I'm trying to buy travel insurance for my mom and I have a question about age. My mom is coming to the U.S.. I would like to buy her an insurance that will start on Sep 12 and end on Nov 15. She is 69 now and her birthday will be in Oct.. So, when I buy the insurance for her, I think her age should be "65-69", since the insurance start date is Sep 12 and she will not be 70 yet on Sep 12. Please confirm it with me if my understanding is correct.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. You are correct she would not yet be 70 so the correct age to select is 65-69. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office.
