Q:I am considering purchasing one of your Covid-19 travel insurance with quarantine coverage. Suppose I get tested positive, so it is not allowed to board an airplane bound for the US by a restriction of CDC. Would the insurance above reimburse the cost for an additional stay in Mexico which is inevitable to meet the CDC regulation? I have heard that quarantine is just "advisable" in Mexico, even if getting a positive covid test result. In addition, in my view, your certificate wording indicates that only "mandatory" quarantine falls within the "Quarantine" which triggers your reimbursement. It also explicitly excludes "embargo" as a cause for your covers. By any chance, does a Covid infection suffice by itself to meet the term "Sick"? If not, there seems to be no way for travelers to Mexico to be covered by your quarantine coverage. I am sorry for the long question and thank you for your answer in advance.

A:
Any of the plans in our quarantine coverage section for U.S. residents traveling outside the U.S. including travel to Mexico, will provide both Covid-19 medical coverage for medically necessary testing and treatment as long as it manifests or is contracted after the effective date, and can provide Travel delay benefits which can cover lodging and accommodations if you are ordered to quarantine. Covid-19 is treated as any other new illness covered under the plan. We would recommend this plan: /safe-travels-outbound/travel-health-insurance/ If you have additional questions, please let us know.

Q:my parents are visiting from india to usa in the march 2022. My father turns 80 in june. Do I need two insurance one for 79 years and one for 80 years.

A:
Due to some age restrictions on policies we recommend you get two separate insurances for your parents. Some plans will still retain coverage even if your father changes age during its coverage. If you want more info you can go quote our available plans /visitors-insurance/

Q:It's confusing to select the best insurance. Are you able to suggest one for my mother who is less than 70 years and will be in the US for few months and one for my sister who is less than 40 years and will be here for couple of months.

A:
We would need additional information in order to recommend a plan for either person. Plan availability is based on multiple things, such as country of citizenship, home country, what state they are coming to, etc. You can run quotes through this link to find plans that would be available to them based on the above information you would enter into the quote link, if they are coming to the U.S. on B2 Visitor visas: /visitors-insurance/ We offer 2 types of plans, Fixed and Comprehensive. We recommend the Comprehensive plans as they will pay higher amounts for covered expenses. Which ever plans come up first within the quotes for the Comprehensive plans, will provide the higher level of benefits. If you have additional questions, please let us know.

Q:Would this insurance cover my Step father if he was to come to the US for a medical procedure from the UK. He also has pre-existing conditions ie he had 3 strokes in the last 3 yrs & he has been type 2 diabetic for 19 yrs

A:
Our plans do not cover for pre-existing conditions or chronic conditions. For any treatment received in the U.S., those costs would be out of pocket. While some plans offer acute onset benefits for pre-existing conditions, that benefit is only for a sudden and unexpected emergency that is not expected based on the condition, comes on without symptom or warning, is rapidly progressing, and requires treatment within 24 hours. Because your step father is coming for treatment and has a chronic condition, that benefit would not provide coverage. If you have additional questions, please let us know.

Q:Does my father can buy a Travel Insurance to visit us in USA ? He is 93 years old.

A:
There are plans available, however, the policy maximum options are going to be low and the cost expensive. The highest policy maximum he would be able to obtain would be $20,000. You can run quotes through this link: /visitors-insurance/ When running the quote, you would need to select the Policy Maximum range of $10,000- $25,000. Once you have the quotes, you can select the View More button for each plan to see the policy maximum it can offer. If you have additional questions, please let us know.
