Q:H1B medical insurance needed I have tried to search some insurance plan related to my travel to US and also for some period of time.. I am travelling from India on 22nd April 2016 & reach Texas on 23rd April 2016 and planning to buy the insurance for 90 days.. I just searched in the Insubuy website and selected one plan "Atlas International" and when i see the quote it is showing the rate as 71.89$ as per the screenshot attached here.. But when i clicked the purchase and gave some information and it will gives amount i need to pay is 125.12$ as per attached screenshot attached here (i.e. Screenshot Name: Insurance Quote_After Clicked Purchase).. I am not sure, why this difference... Could you please clarify.. More Information Below Policy Type - Atlas International Max Policy Amount - $50,000 Policy Duration - 90 days Insurance Start date - 22nd April 2016 Citizenship - Indian Visa Type - H1B Please let me know if you need any other information..

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The Atlas International plan is for travel outside of the United States and if you are traveling to the states you would be purchasing Atlas America which is the reason for the increase in premium as it is a different plan. However, you are not eligible for the Atlas America plan with the visa type that you are arriving on. If you employer offers insurance it is recommended that you enroll into that option as it is most appropriate. If it is not offered you are eligible to purchase a plan called Patriot America Plus. This plan is not PPACA compliant so you would be responsible for any penalties incurred for not having a compliant plan. Please use the link listed below for more details about the plan and to generate a quote. Patriot America Plus brochure & instant purchase link: /patriot-america-plus-insurance/

Q:New Immigrants Medical Insurance I am looking into getting insurance for my mom and I am hoping you can clarify a few things for me: 1. With comprehensive coverage (Patriot America Plus, Liaison Continent A) does this cover mammography? What is the preventive screening coverage? 2. I will probably paying and renewing the insurance month to month. If, for example I start of with Liaison Continent A, then when it expires, I decide to go to Patriot America Plus, how does that work? What is the process? 3. Does comprehensive coverage covers the entire US and then travels (except for restricted countries listed)? 4. If the application had breast cancer before and has been in remission for about 8 years, I understand that no longer qualifies as a pre-existing condition, right? I would greatly appreciate your prompt response.

A:
Hello, Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Please see the answers to your questions listed below. 1. Mammography would not be covered as the plan does not cover preventative care as this considered to be a preventative service which would not be covered under the policy. Preventative Screening is any service that is done such as a routine checkup that should typically be done in the home country. 2. Once a plan is active is it recommended to continue with that plan throughout the duration of the stay. As purchasing a new plan would be new and anything that happens before the effective date of the new policy would not be covered to include any injured or illness that may have occurred under your previous policy. 3. Yes, the plans will cover anywhere outside of the home country or country of citizenship and during travel. 4. This would still be considered a pre-existing condition the plans have specific exclusions for cancer. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact our office. Thank you for your response. I just have a few follow up questions: 1. Do you have a recommended insurance plan which will cover preventive exams? 2. What coverage is available for cancer? Thank you for contacting Insubuy. Unfortunately, there are no plans on the market for a visitor to cover any pre-existing conditions or preventative care. If a non U.S. resident or citizen wishes to receive any treatment for a pre-existing condition or have preventative checkups this is an expense that would be solely out of pocket. If you need any further assistance please feel free to contact our office. Please review the link to a helpful FAQ that may assist with any unanswered questions. Visitors Insurance for Cancer Treatment in USA: /visitors-insurance-for-cancer-treatment-in-usa/ Hi. Is this still the same if it is for a Legal Resident? Noted on the cancer info. As a legal resident (i.e.) green card holder etc. The would be eligible to have a domestic Insurance that would cover any pre-existing conditions or preventative care. At this time the open enrollment season has ended and enrolling into a domestic insurance plan would not be available unless there is a special enrollment period warranted and would be determined by the marketplace. Thank you. Do you provide this health insurance? If so what plan options do you have? I believe my mom will qualify for special enrollment as her arrival to the US is dependent on the date the green card/ petition will be approved. Is this correct? Thank you so much for your prompt response. I really appreciate it. In order to enroll under long term policy, Your mother needs to have social security number. So as soon as she comes you can apply for her social security number usually it takes 1-2 months. In that time you can have Patriot America plus plan. Which covers any new sickness, injuries or accidents. No pre-existing and preventive care. However it has acute onset of pre-ex below age 70 years. More information on acute onset of pre-ex, /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ If she is coming on immigrant visa you cannot purchase Liaison continent or Atlas America plan. I am looking for coverage for her in case of illness (cold virus etc) I know that she would be excluded if she is traveling for medical care. Q:inbound-immigrant plan maternity insurance I have a couple of questions regarding to inbound-immigrant plan. Firstly, whats is the exactly maternity coverage in this fixed plan? For instance, in order to get a coverage for medical expenses, she must wait for at least 90 days to become pregnant? That is, maternity must occur at least 90 days after effective day. What about that if pregnancy occurs in the 90 days for effective day? In this case, She can get a coverage for medical expenses after 90 days? I mean she is able to get medical services such as routine check ups, sonogram, baby delivery and post-natal care after 90 days, even if she becomes pregnant in the 90 days. Thank you in advance for help.

A:
In order to get maternity benefits she can’t conceive within 90 days of insurance effective date. If she conceive within first 90 days she will not get any maternity benefits.
