Unfortunately, the plans available on the market will not meet these requirements. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am thinking of buying : "Atlas Travel Insurance" for my parents visiting from : December 15, 2017 - Feb 4, 2018. I have a few questions: 1.) If I buy insurance online today or tomorrow will it be effective from December 15, since it is very close to December 15. 2.) My father has gone through some heart surgery 4-5 years back. Currently he is healthy. Is there anything specific i need to look for in insurance ?

A:
Plans will start from your selected effective date of coverage that you request. So if you purchase the plan today or tomorrow to start 12/15 the plan will still be effective as of 12/15. The plans are designed to cover the new accidents and new illness that happen after the effective date of the policy. Some plans will offer coverage for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. Please look at Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition for more information.

Q:My wife is currently a student and is having H4 Visa. Do you have an affordable student health insurance visa?

A:
Your wife as an H4 visa holder is not eligible for a student plan because of her visa status. You will need to look into domestic ACA compliant plan options for coverage as this is what she is required to have. Not having an ACA compliant plan can result in penalties being assessed by the Unites States government. Any plan available will be a short term solution until her domestic insurance plan would start. If you would like to look into the short term plan available to your wife please send us her age, state in which she would require coverage as well as her date of arrival into the united States. We can then send you short term plans that would be available.

Q:I have a question that does visitor's insurance cover tdap vaccination?

A:
Short term plans are designed to cover new accidents and new illness that happen after the effective date of the policy. Plans do not cover the cost of immunizations, this will be a cost that you would pay for out of pocket.

Q:Hi, I am planning to take travel health insurance from insubuy for my parents for few months, probably through atlas america. 1. Looks like is is associated with First health network. If a provider wants to direct bill, where do they call-First health network or Atlas america? 2. My next question is about pre-certification. If one gets admitted to hospital for emergency condition, physicians will be the one who will order CT, MRI and a patient may not have time or capacity to apply for pre-certification . Also patient may not even know he is getting CT, MRI until they have already been done. For out patient CT/MRI,there will be enough time and patient can apply for pre-certification. When a patient gets admitted to hospital, there may not be enough time to do that and those tests may be needed emergency. What can be done in such situations? Thanks

A:
The Atlas America plan does participate in the First health PPO network. All of the information in regards filing claims is listed on the back of the ID card that will be provided to the facility. Claims are processed through HCC not First Health. There is no pre-certification requirements under Atlas America plan. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
