Q:I'm looking for an insurance for a ski trip I'll be doing at Tahoe from January 4th to 7th. I'm mostly looking for health and emergency coverage in case of an accident (I'll be going there by car and with small luggage so no need for travel coverage that much). It will be strictly recreational snowboarding (no competition and no hors piste). I'm a Canadian citizen living in the US with a TN visa status What plan do you have for that and how much would it be? Also I might do another ski trip later in the month in Vancouver, but I will ask for a separate quote once I'll know more about it.

A:
As the plans offered are for individual that do not reside in the United States there would not be any plans that we can offer you to cover you while skiing.

Q:I am trying to buy medical insurance for my dad who is visiting us in the USA from China for 6 months on tourist visa. He has already arrived US. Can I get insurance for him for the rest of his stay here? Thank you

A:

Q:I'm a US citizen living outside the United States. I'm traveling back for about a week over the holidays and am looking for a short term medical plan. I initially read the Patriot America plan covers US citizens who are visiting the US on a short-term basis. However, when I reviewed the plan documents, they state it's for non-US citizens visiting the US. Will the Patriot America plan cover me (as a US citizen living outside the US) on a short term visit to the United States?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. The Patriot America Plan is available to U.S. citizen need coverage in the United States for a short period. If you need any additional assistance please contact our office.

Q:Hello, I am interested in purchasing health insurance for my partner and I, ages 31 and 32. We are both U.S. citizens and currently live in Australia under Visas subclass 457 and 462. I spoke to one of your agents and specifically asked about any restrictions for obtaining your comprehensive Diplomat America insurance for 18 days while traveling in the US. I moved to Australia on Oct 1st, and will return to Australia on Jan 1st 2019. Your agent stated that I qualify for insurance as long as I plan to return to Australia. However, when I try to purchase the insurance I am unable to indicate that my home country is Australia. Does this mean I am not eligible to purchase temporary insurance for a short visit to the U.S.?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. The Diplomat America plan is not available if your mailing address is in Australia so you would not be able to purchase this plan as it requires a foreign mailing address for issuance of the policy. There is a plan available called Patriot America plus that you are eligible to purchase as a U.S. citizen returning home for a short visit. This plan will cover any new accidents or new illnesses that happen after the effective date of the policy. If you need any additional assistance please contact our office.
